Socketed uniques?

Does anyone know if socketed uniques drop?

I know I dropped a rare 2 socketed tin pointy helmet but I'm curious if socketed uniques actually drop or it's against game mechanics.

Preferably I mean have you actually seen one drop, not traded one.

Hi,

I've seen socketed uniques drop but only on items that are supposed to be socketed like Black Hades. Hope that helps.

Ah, thank you.

But... if it's supposed to be socketed, it always drops with sockets or can it drop without?

If u look at the unique items list on the arreat summit then u can see which uniques have sockets, if u want to put a socket in a unique that doesn't already have one then u can use the socket quest from the fat blacksmith in act 5 who's name i've forgotten.

Getting Larzuk, the act 5 guy to socket a unique, will only and always give 1 socket. Anything else is random up to its max number.

Most of the unique items that drop that have sockets are junk anyway.
Tomb Reaver, Mosers shield and Ali bout all i can think of thats actually a useful item to keep. Spirit forge? Eww

dont you need a soj for the cube recipe, and most of them get sold to merchants or so it keeps telling me :p much better off using a nice rune word than bothering with a socketed unique

the stone of jordan sold to merchants is only a timer that appears when a diablo clone is going to spawn, stone of jordan rings have nothing to do with it, however anyone who uses a soj in a cube recipe needs to be shot.

No actually it isn't, the SoJs ARE being sold somewhere on the server it turns out, which is why he doesn't appear as much any more, people tent to use (I THINK it is called ) netstat to make sure they all get on the same server and sell in private games, it isn't very often that these cartels miss the Uber. But they ARE organising now so that outsiders are not profiting by their sales.

Yeah it does say that on the blizzard forums, however u'd need to sell quite a lot of soj's it seems and how would sell their soj on the off chance that they manage to get D clone. Seems dubious to me.

Netstat just shows you what server the game is on. They rage from 1 to 150 i believe for europe. XXX SoJ's sold is only shown in the games for that server. What they do is form a game on the server those SoJ's were sold and wait a few hours to see if a Diablo clone spawns.

netstat -n is all your type in the comand prompt when in game and see the SoJ message. XXX.4000 is the diablo connection with XXX being the game server.
