I've PMd Chick to set us up a room for GW.

Hopefully it is Chick I was supposed to ask!

Hopefully we can have a go at some PvP some time soon.

Unfortunately I have used up all my character slots. Could someone make a PvP-only character and report on what arenas they can see, and that they can get into the Guild Hall?

I think the Droknar's Arena is 4 player teams, which is accessible to 3 of us at least with our PvE characters.

We'll need to feel our way a bit seeing what we can do in terms of mixing PvE and PvP-only characters.

The advantage of the PvP-only characters is that those who haven't done much PvE can jump in pretty much immediately.

I can log in OK, but have to have a read of the manual so I know what I'm doing.

My mic doesn't seem to be working atm (even outside of TS). It is cheap rubbish from GAME so maybe it never will, but I've a few checks to do yet.

All being well we might be able to test it out on Monday, if I'm up to speed.

oppen up your windows sound mixer thing, go to advanced, so you can see the mic setting, and untick the 'mute' option.

Ah yes that has done the trick. I can confirm the mic works.

Obviously you can suffer from audio feedback (whistle) this way.

I'm guessing I can tick the box again to mute it for playback, but it will still transmit. We can confirm this in a test.

I guess we'll have to choose to use the same codec as well.
Any suggestions on what works well?

Usagi and I spent the evening using TeamSpeak successfully.

Initially I had my mic sensitivity set too low and was breaking up, but that was easily sorted.

There is a Guild Wars room and 2 subrooms.

I can set you up an account in game (did so for usagi).
The Guild Wars room has a password. I'll give you that in game too.

The sound quality is passable. Forget the codec just atm. Set up by Chick when he set up the rooms. Obviously there are several other rooms in operation simultaneously so we can't have the BEST sound quality, but it's usable.

On the whole I'm rather happy with it.

Once you have started using it forit's propper purpose, ie screaming hysterically at each other whilst getting owned in PvP, can you use the 'record' option to post some quality moments ?

TS has a record button? see, thats a reason to talk my wow guild into using it instead of ventrillo right there (was going to post some memorable wipes i remember, but will put them in wow forums instead )
