Teamspeak soundcard trouble

Here's my technical issue. Just fitted a Soundblaster Live 5.1

Initially all seemed well - tested fine on TS. Since then have tried being online with AA and seemed sound suppressed by also being logged into TS (ie sound from one or the other not sharing). Now can't get card to even test properly.

Anyone have the same card have these sort of issues ? I've looked on the TS site but nothing obvious thought this might be a more direct route to a fix.

I'm not sure what you're getting at m8, I've got a 5.1 and it works fine for me.

Well, as is always the joy with PC things, nothing ever seems to just simply work. It may be that you haven't had any problems, but this is what I have experienced:
Open TS and login - fine
Open AA - no sound

or

Open AA - fine
Open TS - no sound

Meanwhile, when I first installed the card the test mic in Settings in TS tested out really well, now no sound. Just wondered if anyone had experienced similar to shortcut me farting around for hours.

hmmm that sounds most odd indeed m8, I would take a pop at a faulty soundcard channels but thats a pure guess.

Not all sound cards are the same and ive said this before some use a connector that doubles up either as microphone or extra speakers, yours might not do that BUT it may be once you launch TS it activates the mic and disables (or interferes with) some of the sound.Try droping down from 5.1 to headphones and mic in sound setting either in your sound card software or windows,or if using speakers and mic just drop it to 2 speakers.

Mae hi'n braf
I had a few probs similar to this - i had onboard sound and an SB Live 5.1. Disabled the onboard sound and all worked ok with my SB after.

Try getting rid of onboard sound first, then try what Mossop suggested next. After that get up the creative sound mixer or whatever its called on the 5.1 version.
On the far right you should have a mixer bar titled microphone if you havnt and it doesnt always set it up as such (trust me) If its not titled microphone just left click it and turn it into one . then set it with the 20db boost option on .
That should set up the mic at least .
Also make sure you have the control panel settings set to the same as the soundblaster settings .
If this doesnt happen with other games then it may be that your settings for AA in the user.ini and the armyops.ini may need playing with .
Check out the tweak guide in the Everything you wanted to know thread. (just search through the pages till you get to the sound stuff)

Oh and some of the setings that where in the user.ini in version 2.0 are now in the armyops.ini in version 2.1 .

Thanks guys I'll have a play with these recommendations. Have already disabled onboard sound through Bios so it's not that.
