The Darkness......

As the sound approaches ever nearer it seems that the communal view is to move into the darkness, despite not knowing what is within it. As each of you step into it you feel a sudden rush of cold pass over you. Almost as though your grave had been walked over. This does little to help put you at ease.

The space beyond is pitch black, all you can hear is the sounds of one anothers breathing and movement, but the sound does seem to carry some way. This leads some of you to believe that the room is in fact quite large.

In the darkness some of you pause for moment to try and listen to the void about you. There seems to be no sound at all, but there is the feeling of something nearby.

In the distance the rumbling approaches nearer as Bakaris enters the darkness, only Legaless remains outside tryingto count the steps of those within the room. This proves pointless thought as the clutter of movement soon merges into one sound. Rather like a stampede to his elven ears.

Deciding not to find out what is aproaching he gently eases himself into the cooling darkness, stepping around the tripwire as he does so, out of the corner of his eye he looks up the stairs and catches a glimpse of a pair of glowing yellow eye's in the dim distant light. They seem somehow familiar to him.

Within the room there seems to be very little that any of you can percieve until Krissa manages to find a wall. The old fashioned way (walking into it). The sound is quite audible and some of you try to find other walls as quickly and quietly as possible.

A few moments later you have established that within the darkness there is a room of four walls, about a rectangle sort of shape that extends along the side of the tower.

There appear to be some solid wooden doors upon one end of the room. In the darkness though there is little to distinguish them from the walls even.

[OOC: The rectangle has been entered from one end, there are two doors at the opposite end.]

In the distance the rumbling and shuffling footsteps are getting closer with every moment..........

What now?

The sound of the rumbling getting closer prompts a recent memory to spark in Bakaris's mind. Backing off slowly to the entrance doorway he turns and carefully steps over the trip-wire to reconsider his next action.

zeus moves up to the right hand door at the other end of the room, and (bracing himself to jump out of the way of a trap) looks through. Is it light on the otherside? or does the darkness continue? Oh, and how wide are the doorways, and how strong does the door look?

Kryssa stifles a yelp as her nose comes into contact with the wall. Rubbing her nose one hand she traces her other along the wall until she comes into contact with the right hand door. Standing next to Zeus she tries to hear if anything is behind it.
She then runs her hands over the wood trying to feel if there is a handle or a keyhole she can look through.
All the while she is listening hard in case whatever it is above them, follows them into the room.

The door feels very strong, perhaps oak by the smell of it. Having a good felch (!) you find that there is indeed a door handle. Below it there is a keyhole.

The metal feels cold to the touch about the handle and keyhole. Peering through you find that you can see a very faint light beyond.

Listening the closing rumble begins to drown out everything as it rises above everyones breathing............

ooc: you off inventing words again?

ic: Zeus tries the handle, not really expecting the door to be unlocked but figuring its worth a try.

OOC: Im the DM I can do what I want!!!!

The door appears to be locked, from the feel of the handle it is also particularly stiff.

Aristotle steadily makes his way to the end of the room and, feeling around him for the walls, places himself directly between the two doors with his back to the wall.

Shielding his eyes in case there's a sudden light when the doors are opened, he unslings his ballista and stands, listening intently, sniffing the air.
