The Wheel of Time: A memory of light

I just finished reading the newest and last Wheel of time book. I have to say, it was really, really good. At least on par with the very first books of the series. For people like me, that were worried about Brandon Sanderson being able to finish the series at all, that was quite a nice way of bein proven wrong. While fighting (Well, it IS the Last Battle, duh) makes up a huge part of the book, probably 80% of it, it has a number of genuinely great moment, scary moments, laugh out loud moment, great banter.

I fully recommend it for anybody that enjoyed the first few books in the series. True, books 7-9 were not that good, books 10 and 11 better, but 12-14 (written by Sanderson) were very good to great.

Anybody else finished reading it? What did you think?

Will read it eventually, when I finish Sanderson's mistbord triology that I happen to be reading right now.

Good to hear that it is going to be worth the 13 books prior!

Your opinion is worthless....
I went all the way to book 9 or 10 if i remember rightly, maybe have to revisit it as i did enjoy them until it turned into lots o padding not much action :)

I'm reading it now and so far it seems pretty nifty. I think Sanderson has done a good job on all of the books tbh.

Cheers

Finished this series the other week and I have to say the final book is very well done, Brandon Sanderson did a very good job.

If you have read most of the books then it is worth finishing off the series.

Yeah its one of many on my 'need to get' list I was impressed by the first of the posthumous books :) atm have been catching up on Fiest's stuff and after that I have got the last of the Malazan series waiting my perusal and I think I am going to start that from the beginning (again) :D

I got really fed up with the Malazan series towards the end.....got too obscure for me and seemed to wobble all over place ending up itself I thought.

The second last book has left me a bit 'huh' but was hoping a reread and the last one would sort it out. I think the first time I read up to Repears Gale as I got a loan off a neighbour then bought an read them again and got a lot more at the second reading but obviously its only a first run after Reaper'. I did enjoy the bouncing back and forward in time (as with Katherine Kerrs Dawnspell/Time of/ etc)
Even if the end is slightly less than satisfying there are some really good books in this series.
