To be fair that was way back when the average server population at any time was 30, on Thestra with an almost unlimited supply of ropey graphics, broken quests and boring combat..

These days things have changed, server population is up to ~1000 at any given time now

First time Ive played tonight in about 8 months so we will see if it still is.

To be fair, I am fairly sure that any kind of game is pretty much not fun to play 10-12 months prior to release...

I think the crafting is okayish so far, but the rest seems very much standard fare. I was hoping to be able to get a bit more individuality for my char in skills, etc. I don't want to have the same skills as everybody else, same spells, same bla.

So, what do you think Fanny - tried restarting in Qalia? I can recommend starting in Lomshire for a reasonable set of starting quests, loot etc
