Three Ascending

Well - me, Taz and Coalman are all in the desert now ready to do the ascension missions. It's a big step. Bigger than reaching 20. :)

Your capture signets become useful now :)

The desert can be tough, but we should be fine, so long as we take our time.

There are several quests in the desert for 1000xp a pop too.

Yes I must remember to do some of the side Quests as the list I have is getting pretty long (any idea what the limit is on number of quests you can have current at any one time) but am so enjoying our groupings although I don't seem to be doing much to help sometimes or so it seems :)

They are worth doing, if only for the skills you get. You get 50,000xp for ascending, so you will reach 20 by the end of it.

I've no idea really. I tend to do them pretty much as they come. There probably is no limit to the list that you would practically notice.

Well we're starting to come up against lots of casters now, so shutting them down becomes important. DS only uses Conjure Phantasm and Phantom pain from his Mesmer skills (so far) but they are very useful :)

W00t. Wossname has ascended.

Dark Swan, however, is getting a complex about Elona Reach. Failed lots of times. He fairs better with henchmen than PUGs but can't quite control them. Did it first time with Wossname and henchmen. boo hoo :-(

I'll be back soon, don't worry.

Sounds like Aurora Glade and Faith :D

Wheeeee!!

All three desert missions done.

All I have to do now is beat that damn doppelganger.........*sigh*

THAT is going to hurt........its a solo thing........isn't it.......monks are bad at soloing.

Way to go! :)

Trick with the doppelganger is to pack useless or life sacrificing skills which the doppleganger will use but you won't. If you can dispatch a poison arrow real quick, he will be at a major disadvantage. He will get round to poisoning you too, but if you keep him poisoned, he will die first.

For the first time in ages I didn't get to play yesterday. Busy day. Hopefully I will be on later today though, and we can do the Glint mission to get you to Droknar's Forge. There are two relatively easy elite skill captures near Port Sledge, just outside DF.

Thanks for all the help you guys - don't think I would have got anywhere near this far with PUG's. No to prepare to do the final accension mission over the next couple of days wish me luck & see you on the other side :)

Final Ascension? heh. It's just getting interesting by that point :)

Oh and if your Monk is stuck, little cheet the monks can use, healing breeze isn't used by the clone ...

And woot! All 3 of my characters are now upto Sorrows Furnace, and got my first couple of green items. Necro Death Wand and Mesmer Illusion staff.

Pity my mesmer (on second account) is still hanging about the Gates of Kryta, now thats what I call twinking ^^

Agreed. And the PUGs are worse. Except for the occasional superb one. (Remembers Thunderhead Keep here.)

I don't think you need to have finished the game to get into SF. (For some quests yes e.g. Defend Droknars.) Taz's Monk and my ranger walked up Snake Dance last night and through the cave route part of Grenth's Footprint. Found Deldrimor War Camp, and then Granite Citadel. OK not actually INTO SF but my warrior has been in, and he hasn't finished the game either.

I wouldn't mind a second account for muling I must admit.
If I ever want to build a PvP only character (e.g. a Warrior Mesmer) I'm going to have to delete a character, as I already have 4 PvE. That will be painful.

Indeed, but I wanted to "finish" the the first part of the game with em, before working on the expansion.

Thats the other reason, I want to do all the new quests with them too.

It's not just the mule-ability that I got a second account for, I've got it set up now so I have one primary for each of the professions, so any kit I come across I can always find a spot for it :)

The hard part is going to come when I finally get round to nuking my 4th char on the first account, I've played her all the way up to fire isle ... oh well, her replacement is coming on in leaps and bounds on the second account.

I've come to that conclusion as well. 3 PvE chars to unlock stuff (each sub-class covered), and a PvP character which can be anything.

I've decided to play IR forward to unlock some elementalist skills, but he may well get nuked eventually.

Have you tried any PvP only characters yet?

I'm pretty sure they get use of the skills, runes, grips etc that your PvE players unlock, but what do they do for armour? Do they get to use whatever you may have bought previously, or are they limited (or unlimited even)?

Having trouble with that damm doppleganger, so need some ideas on a battle plan, one question does he use your skills in any particular order?

Have got 3 rubbish ranger pet skills as 1st 3 skills (no pets in final arena) & have Hex breaker which I cast b4 activating final stone should last for 70secs+ but it seems to have gone by time I enter arena also have Backfire & Empathy which leaves 2 spots, if I take Conjour Phantasm it seems he continualy uses that when I am out of range of his weapons & apart from that I don't have any direct damage dealing spells to quickly take his health down. Re-specced my stats into fast casting & Domination :(

Traps where the answer (thanks for the hint DS) was able to interrupt him whislt he was casting them which allowed my Hexbreaker to last a bit then Empathy & Backfire b4 re-casting Hexbreaker then spamming Conjured Phantasm until he died - Seemed to take ages for battle but couldn't have been that long not sure of the exact time or if it was withing the 50sec Bonus :)

Way I did it with my EL/ME was load up on a load of useless enchantments and shatter enchantment and arcane echo :)
