Just like its Half-life counterpart Counterstrike... Tactical Ops is soon to release a stand alone retail version of the popular Unreal Tournament Mod currently on its 2.20 Beta.

It uses the Unreal engine and will cost in the region of $29.99 Although it will be released in the Us 2 months before everywhere else so if your tempted you'll have to keep busy if your in Europe etc...

havent seen it yet but its apparently very Patriotic and might cash in on people still angry about September 11th etc.

It aint very patriotic. In Fact the americans will prolly like that trailer as it s about fighting terrorists and whatnot.

Doesn't really show much cept for an in-game demo of fighting, nothing more.

It was born from a mod though... I respect theyve done well in the mod with what litle support theyve had. Glad they thought it was time to make some money from it. Even if its chod i'll buy it... or just send them the 30$ in an envelope :)

Ok its here...

Tactical Assault on terror mod for Unreal tournament, which is different to the other Tactical Ops 2.20 beta mod for unreal tournament although its made by the same people.

TO : AoT download (200meg)

Its a fairly big file, but you just need that and a copy of UT to give it a go.

And yes i will keep going on about this game... for many years to come :)

OMG! OMG! OMG!

Download the above link! Patch your UT to 436 and then install. Its absolutely amazing.. I actually sweat from being scared while playing it. If your 56k like me its a good 15 hours download But i expect cable users etc will get in an an hour or 2. Cant post much more... must play :D

Yeah... 2 bad points... The M60 is too cheap and the MP5 sounds like a typewriter ( but thats fixable with a patch )

Also great thing is i run it at 1024x728, 32 bit, with all textures, lighting effects at full and i still get 140 ping on a 56k :)

I'll have a go when I get back home from Uni, and I'm not behind a huge evil firewall...only advantage of the Uni network atm is that I've managed to convince most of my college of the joys of Counterstrike. We've got some big games planned after the exams :)

Id play Counterstrike but i find with all the half-life stuff online on 56k its just not playable... you find that?
