That was due to trying to look things up on the web and going in circles.

Is it me or is there a lack of information regarding what drops what or where to find certain items, compared to the quest information that seems very very good.

What Im looking for is a list of tradeskill books and what/where they can be bought or dropped. Or a good site that has these listed for easy reference.

Im looking at going Artisan->Outfitter->Weopensmith to replace slainagain as I understand he has moved on.

I'm currently at Artisan 9 , but at the moment im not moving forward in this as I am unsure where to start apart from collecting base ingredients to allow me to increase skill once I get direction.

Well, to become Outfitter (and hit Level 10) you need to sign up with the Outfitters in Queynos Harbour. TBH, the drops are relatively random, but you can get books as rare drops from almost any creature. They are chest drops, so any non-grey group ^^ mobs you kill will have a chance to drop some of the books. Solo mobs have very little chance of dropping books or decent items.

Tradeskill books can be bought on the vendors inside the crafting instances. Once you hit your specialisation (Weaponsmith in your case) you can buy the books at the specialised WS crafting instance in your hometown, which is a second crafting instance you can join. More rare books usually can be found as drops, so you will have to buy these off the wholesaler or spend ages adventuring while hoping to get the exact books you need as drops - which is unlikely.

As far as to what resources you need, Level 1-9 you can use the stuff from the newbie zones, Level 10-19 Commonlands and Antonica, 20-29 is TS, Nek, SH, 30-39 is EL, Zek, etc.
