Knok seeing the woman subdued once again casts detect magic. He quickly picks up the fading trail and begins to follow it again. BEhind him he is aware of Arak doing the same.
Arak too sees the odd trail of magic, slowly fading from a fairly strong aura. Its odd to the mage, its a mixture of numerous spell schools.
He too follows Knok down the street. Behind the group fall into line, the wolverine form of Belwar loping alongside the half orc mage. Thak to his right, The elvern ranger strides slightly behind, his bow ready and Siggi rushes up to knok to help guard him. Bamoin is conspiquious by his absence. No doubt upto mischeif as he too follows the group from the shadows of the city.
It takes almost no time for the next scene to unfold. One minute the street was packed with shoppers, then the next minute bolts of light scream through the air. A nearby commoner was sliced in half by the light as a parallel beam takes a chunk out of a house wall. The magic aura suddenly explodes in strength as evocation seems to lace the air with weaves of red strands. Then the robed figure seems to drift through the panicy crowd oblivious to the carnage behind him.
A man, elderly, staggers around, a look of pure horror in his face. His eyes suddenly flash intensly white and two more lightning bolts shoot out hitting a militia man square on and destroying a nearby wagon. People scream, mules and horses panic throwing riders or upsetting carts and wagon and within a couple of seconds mass panic erupts amidst more lightning and more shrieking falling, burning people..
Almost at the same time as the second bolt of blue lightning flashes nearby something odd happens. All around the group belt buckles, weapon sheaths, backpacks, fasterners on your clothes and equipment pop open. this effect ripples outwards a good 30 feet affecting all of you and originating with Thak. And suddenly about to take a step forward the ground in front of Siggi opens up in a 5ft wide, 5ft long, 10ft deep pit, siggi manages (just) to stop herself falling in.
'What the hell?' runs through your mind as this happens.

1. A man shooting blue light from his eyes. They really look like they hurt!!
2. The robed figure within 30ft but still seemingly oblivious to you
3. Thak causing belt buckles etc from opening
4. Siggi causing pits to appear right in front of her!
