wow got my shiney new Vegas 2 on wednesday, installed it last night, updated, clicked play.
Hhhmmmm anyone had this?
I've now tried it on a different patition, with out the update, with 1 eye closed and my fingers crossed, and while drinking the "please please work for me" juice of stella. and still coming up with the message.
IT is a genuine game not a copy, sealed, with nice smelling book that has the code on.

*****All sorted now, I had to uninstall my virtual drives, alcohol 120, and all my dvd burning software/editing software, but works fine and is bloody good
