Vehicle Squadrons

After Zed mentioning Killa Kans I had a browse through the Codex and liked what I saw, the only bit that I'm not 100% sure about is vehicle morale checks, one part said there are no morale checks for vehicles, then another part went into vehicle squadrons and how they re-act but it just didn't make sense.

If I take 2 killa kans as a unit, and one gets destroyed, does it affect the other one ?

short answer: no.
vehicles dont have leaderships, so dont have morale checks.

since your asking about them, heres a few other things!
-vehicle squadrons must all fire at the same target, and they do so at the same time (this is a good thing. means if you have say 3 leman russes, firing on a squad of 5 marines, you can get 15 hits in total, rather than killing some in between.)
- when you take hits, the defender splits the hits. so say you've got 2 penetratings and 2 glancings hitting your squad of 3 kans, you can put the 2 penetratings on one (one thats already damaged, if possible!), and a glancing each on the other 2.
- normally, an immobilised vehicle can still shoot. in a squadron, it cannot - 'immobilised' gets upgraded to 'destroyed'.
- on the other hand, normally 'stunned' means you cant move. in a squadron, it doesnt - it gets downgraded to 'shaken' so you cant shoot.

So fitting Grot riggers on them would be pointless?, or is it just immobilised, but cannot shoot (Grot Rigger mean in I think shooty phase I roll if they are immobilised, if I get 4+ the silly grots have fixed it and I'm off again !)

yep, really silly upgrade as the vehicle is counted as destroyed before you get a chance to use it.
it might, possibly, be worth having it on one of them and saving that one till last (since if its the last survivor, it reverts to normal vehicle rules)

That makes the two upgrades for them pretty pointless with grot riggers and armour plates, on the plus side that means I keep em cheap, just splashing out for the Grotzooka which looks rather nice, though is on R18" i guess ...

Hmmm, shame the killa kans kit comes with only 4 weapons and 3 killa kans, I guess it's time to fudge up on the other 2 what a grotzuka looks like

I'm not an orc player so i haven't picked up a box of the killa kanz, but apparently there is a grotzooka in the set, you can see it on the cover of the box, i'm told the kan on the left is using one.

Looking into it there seems to be at least one in the set as Readon says, but no more apparantly :/ I'd ask an orc player if I were you and you may even find someone with some spare parts lying about for you :)

thing is, right, its orks. just make a gun out of a piece of sprue and some green stuff and a couple of armour plates, no?
