Where to get Windows 7

Decided to bit the bullet and dump windows xp and go up to windows 7. Just wondering where the cheapest option to get it would be? I have seen a couple for 25 quid but on reading it seems to only be an activation key. Bit confusing, can anyone point me at a cheap copy please?

i think the reason they just sell the key is that you can download the actual install CD quite easily anyway - just go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/home and click on windows 7, with your product key to hand.

If you get an OEM license key then you'll need the OEM version of win7 that matches and MS tend not to have those for download as they're cheaper (and maybe what you've baught) as are supposed to be sold with your new computer. Contact whoever you got your pc from (Dell charge something like 10 pounds to ship you a replacement) or there maybe some dodgy download sites you can get it from but that opens you up to a whole host of other issues.

Aye dont trust the torrents at all. Just remembered that the bairn had two win 7 laptops - must have the key for at least one of them lying round somewhere.
