I tend to run to music i listen to usually, as it relaxes the body and mind, allowing me to run further and smoother.

Your opinion is worthless....
anything up tempo personally, if you look on the itunes there is a spinning podcast, lots of fast music for running spinning exercise in general.

Pretty left field, but try at least once a good Audiobook, at the moment though I've run out of Audiobooks and generally listening to La Roux, Calvin Harris or just some upbeat stuff on last.fm (which is free).

When my iTunes account is back in credit I'll get some more Audio books though.

P.S Bare in mind all my working out is done indoors on the cross trainer with an iFit workout guide running as well, I'm not sure Audiobook would work running in the real world as I tend to get absorbed and that while it helps me pass the time, might be dangerous near cars

Try to track down some old-time southern blues rock. Of new-sool stuff (Supersuckers for example) if you want rhythm, but a bit less country.

On a side note i was down in Nashvbille a few months ago, and really got into Country whilst there. Thena gain where isn't much choice. they don't exactly play "other types" :)

AC/DC maybe.

I don't really know i'm like Chick in that I just play what I like and it doesn't really effect the exercises regardless of the style. I've done my exercises to the last portishead album which is just about as downbeat as you can get, lol.
Maybe it's slightly different when running, I can't really run so i don't know, but stretching exercises it doesn't bother me as long as I like the music!

If it's all about finding and keeping a rhythm maybe some Quo?

Try Some Pink Floyd. The Wall, or Final Cut are pretty awesome for long runs. Long but weird :)
