xbox 360 latency issues

Not really had any problems before i bought street fighter 4 to be honest but the latency bar should have 5 bars on a fight and i dont even have 1 on most fights, making it near unplayable online:(.

Anyone got any ideas on how i can improve latency, my xbox is pluged straight into the router next to the phone line.
