He wasn't sitting close, his friend was a prat and while playing "bowling" on a games console launched at speed to controller directly at the screen while letting go of it and then dependant on who you believe the wrist strap failed or his friend wasn't using it, panic'd, cut it and frayed it and blamed it on a dodgy wrist-strap.
Which just goes to show how stupid the american's are (there is a picture of his mate somewhere in the thread about)

Nope's they can not use the apostrophe's properl'y co's they r american's (hey that the one I got wrong last time again !).
On the plus side though I won't be thick enough to motion a wii-mote at high speed at my tv and then let go of it, and given the choice of a broken TV or poor grammar I know which I'd choose

And this is much more up to the minute Roch, they recalled all the straps
3.2 million of them, which means if nothing else if any of your gibbons come over for curry and want to try the Wii at least I'll let you know, knowing you can be complete loons and maybe just dislocate your knee or something instead 
Hmm I think I'll just wait till after the weekend when all the various news people have the story pinned down, some say recall, some replace, and some both.
This posted 35 mins ago says Nintendo to replace 3.2M then goes on to say the recall is bitter sweet.
