Sober me agrees with tipsy me.
She is way more rocking and raw live (infact really surprisingly rocking) than the studio version, and much better for it.

It was the French-ish, Mylne Farmer/Alize Jacotey vibe of Runaway Love that got me hooked when I was in the car, sunny day, windows open. I was pleasantly surprised by her other stuff and Seasons change has lots of folky touches that mind me of Donovan and Vashti Bunyan even. (More in the sentiments expressed than the music). I cant wait to get the album and will follow her career with interest.

Back in Norfolk now. Really enjoyed 'The Great Escape' this year think we took in something like 19 bands! Although there was nothing new as quite as bonkers and amazing as 'Katzenjammer' last, it was absolutely magically to be right at the front of the 'Okkervil River' set!

Other highlights were :
Alice Gold
Cloud Control
Dog is Dead
Dry The River

All worth checking out albums by.

Love that! I can hear bits of Ziggy Era Mick Ronson guitar in there somewhere. Looks like her first album will be impressive, hope she saves a bit for the always difficult second album.

Hard album to find! Not in Tesco's nor HMV (weird!) - so ordering it from Amazon, should arrive either today or tomorrow! You got it Cull?

Not yet, not been to the metro center but going tonight so fingers xed.

I've found Tesco a bit like that for PC games - they didn't get Borderlands till nearly a week after release.

I could find it in any store. It came to either ordering with Amazon and waiting a couple of days or buying from iTunes, as I much prefer to have a physical copy Amazon won over.
Really odd the shops aren't stocking it though as 'Runaway Love' got some airplay on Radio 2.

Oh and I like it.

Grr the Itunes version has a bonus track. That's one thing that really annoys me at the minute, I spent all week trying to find a physical copy of the album (and ultimately ordered it from Amazon) and it's the download copy that gets the extra track - are they really trying to kill the physical medium here?
So anyway I download the extra track alone for another 99p and it's a solid album track, absolutely no reason not to include it on the CD (which is only 10 tracks and 36 minutes long as it stands).
