Animal Crossing Talk

More just a general "What fun Animal Crossing is" more than anything, it's like a light MMO fix which has for the first time since the first logging on of WoW had us excited about a game and rushing to log back in. We may even be getting another DS so we can both play at the same time (though it would be nice to still be able to stay in effect in one town, maybe moving to the other town when we feel we have the first town how we want it).

If other people have it and haven't really tried it I really urge you to spend a couple of hours with it to get past the starting Nooks quests and really into it, from beach combing (something I enjoy for some reason), to fishing, fossil hunting, fruit gathering, bredding flowers, chopping down trees, catching bugs, even art collection (which I hope to start tomorrow). It's just really fun and relaxing.

Anyway, back to work, and I need to water my radishes this afternoon, and do some more forest pruning, with Aciid's great help all my new fruit trees are growing and I've got the beginnings of my own fruit groves

I have enjoyed it for some time, I've been playing on and off for a couple of months at least on this thing now. It's still ok, but I get bored of all the fruit picking, it seems more like doing chores now. Basically I have to play half an hour (minimum) every day just picking all the weeds, fossils and watering the plants.

Saying that some of the characters do come out with some classic lines sometimes, apparently Gotta's a real pencil pusher according to Tiffany. Sadly I've just lost one of the npc's from the town that I've had since I started, so if anyone sees Lilly the frog, tell her I miss her and want her back.

Rod was going to move out of our town, but Talili talked him around, I'll keep an eye out for Lilly though as I know character are supposed to move to other people on your friends list, and then bad mouth you to your friends

You'll have to come visit our town soon, and see the trees we grew from the fruits you provided

I can see it can become more chore like, but on the flip side every MMO I've ever played seems to do that. Now if they added some crafting thing I'd be set. Looking forward to see the Wii version now and maybe a new DS version to go with it

Aciid, how come Nook doesn't let you order tools you use ? There was a spade in the shop this morning which Talili was gonna buy tonight and the knob in the office who uses (used should I say) has brought it and buried it to make a golden one, but I'm in no rush for that and told him to leave it alone.

Any hints on
a) If I can find where it is buried once I've tried the pain idea
b) If it's possible to buy another from Nooks when it isn't in stock, somehow ?

I wouldn't mind if I hadn't specifically said to not buy the spade, but everything else he could get.

Nope, nooks stock changes daily. As I've the biggest version of his shop I usually have most items available, so you can come and visit today and buy it from my shop if you like.

The biggest annoyance I've found is axes, they keep breaking after about 6 trees. The golden one for that is quite a chore though so I've not even contemplated it yet.

I'm in the process of growing a red turnip now, if you like I'm happy to give to you as a pressie and as thanks for the fruit you supplied to me (I enjoy growing stuff and watering bits so red turnips are fun for me) I wonder as well if I could wander into your town on sunday and buy more red turnip seeds and plant a few of em.

And I found pain worked, got the other spade now

My Axe hasn't broken yet, but it's icon is looking rather shabby, though I guess that's what I get for trying to de-forest parts of my town.

Oh and do the ships stocks (the Able Sisters as well) change every day irrespective of if you brought the thing from that space the day before ?

I keep empying slots though today came across in the able sisters a royal crown worth 1.5 MILLLOOONNNN bells so I won't be able to clear that spot for a while !!

I tried to grow one once. I watered it every day for a week, but it never grew into a bigger one and died.... Never tried again.

I always carry an axe and have one in my house as backup too for those odd purging moments I feel like having every now and then.

Yes, able sisters stock does change every day regardless. I did go through a period of buying everything every day, but you don't have to. It's good to do that as the NPC's in town do have "get me clothing XYZ" quests so handy to be able to order from nooks.

The Turnip vendor said to me it needed watering twice a day so I tigure once in the morning when I get up, once at lunch, once in the evening and it should be sorted.

This first red turnip had your name on it though mate, and if it doesn't grow I'll be buying more seeds on Sunday !

Turned it on this morning to find my shop is upgrading again It only upgraded on Sunday. The turnip still appears to be growing well (as does a money tree) so you'll have to pop over to my town over the weekend Aciid get the turnip and shop in my store (so when it come round to it I'll get the final shop upgrade)

Oh and all the fruit's you gave me grew and today I saw the first fruits on the trees /dance

Nookway's is having it's grand opening and he's telling me he has a spotlight item, how do I know what item it is ?

Oh and his meglomaniac expansion went right over one of my cherry trees

Edit: Forgot to add, is it right you can get cabinets which you can store stuff in ? When I goto collect my fruit currently it's abit of a pain dropping everything I normall carry in the house first.

Um, not sure about the spotlight item.

As farr as carrying more carry lots of letters with you. you can then store items in them as presents, then take them back into your inv when you've sold the 1st lot. You should be able to carry 20(ish) items like this.

Yes cabinates do store items, but for some reason all cabinates and storage use the same virtual area so if you put something in one cabinate it will be in all and vice versa. You can also store things in letters that you save in the post office.

edit: don't bother putting stuff in your house. throw it on the floor outside, its easier to pickup that way later anyway.

I take a taxi from Crouch end to Holborn, thus rendering the picadilly line from Finsbury park to Cockfosters out of bounds for the next 3 round and re opening the lifts at Swiss Cottage.

If you've got a DS Marks it's well worth a punt, if you don't like it there is bound to be a kid somewhere after it

Didn't get to play this lunchtime due to an angry boss, gonna have to fire it up on the bus home tonight to water things again, though it was raining there this morning and I think that means I don't need to water things (well it would make sense if it did)

I've got a top knot and a Aikido suit if you fancy the martial artist look. I've also got a police hat and a uniform I made.... Who said this post made a funny read?

Ahh, do the suits actually look different than just a designed pattern ? I was gonna keep an eye out for a dinner jacket, but the idea of looking llke a ninja ... ohhhh.
