auto-changing profile

Wow, i'ts happened again.

Anyoe remember I accused you folks (rochdale) of changing my homepage (in the profile) to a porn site? Well you all firmly denied it and I'll go with that, but it's happened again. I just had to delete out a link to a crappy browser.

How on earth is spyware on my machine able to see that in my profile on clan uk is a homepage listing, find it and change it! That is pretty scarry and surely illegal.

Right now I'm pretty much sick of the state of the internet, it's almost unusable because of all the spyware and pop ups etc that are out there. I use a firewall I have spyware monitors and anti virus software running 24/7 but I still get crap infections.

But this issue takes the biscuit. I'll keep an eye on my homepage details here on CUK and delete anything that appears there. It's the only way to be safe.

I'ts happened again!!! ijn fact I can't get rid of it!

NOT A LINK!!!!! "http://postal_services.kasalot.biz/" keeps appearing in my profile as my web page and I can't stop it this has to be so illegal and an invasion of privacy! Every time I delete it and hit submit mods, it re-appears.

Can anyone here understand how this is happeneing, how I can stop it or if it's actually a problem for anyone else?

OK update - If I leave the field blank, it auto fills with "http://postal_services.kasalot.biz/" but if I put in a random text string it blanks out when I submit mods. that'll do.

You must have something on your machine doing it, it probably recognises the homepage entry on the form just like MS autocomplete does.

Have you used spybot to scan for spyware?

Try looking in internet tools on IE on connections tab then lan settings. Some advertising software changed this on a mates comp so that he always connected thru an advertising proxy and that was messing with his settings, getting popups when he wasnt in IE etc. Worth a look.

Try using Spybot that normally finds it, specially all that ghay pron i know you download.... _

Aye spybot , addaware ,ect.. amazing what gets deposited on your harddrive via cookies , or those little pop up , and I dont mean from Pron sites either.......

Oh I'm under no illusions, all my crap is probably from porn sites

Checked the Lan settings, nothing there, which is good.

Currently using spy sweeper, so I'll go check out spy bot as well.

It's bloody infuriating, I even get a second search page pop over the first whenever I doa search in Google, obviously the second page is total shti.

Check your add/remove software applet in control panel, look for anything ominous in there, I've seen a few http forwarding proggies show up in there. Also check your task manager for anything strange.

Ad-aware is a pretty good free removal software too
