AVG changes

Not sure who else runs AVG here but I just got there latest update today and it seems they want people to either swap to a different AVG Free or start paying them. Now I'm not against people making money but right isn't the best time to be paying out anything.

So anyone use any other free Anti-virus software which they can recommend ? I'll go back to AVG in the long run as never had any problems with it but I don't want to end up leaving my PC unprotected in the meantime.

They're just stopping support for the old version of AVG. They announced this around 2 months ago at least and the new (version 7 I think) free version has been available to download since just after the announcement.

I have the paid version running on my laptop which cost around $35 for a 2 year subscription I think which is very cheap. I also have the free version running on my games PC. To be honest I can't see much of a difference, it seems the full version does a full scan every day.
