Intehstate 76 has to be my favourite game in the world ever - fooking difficult it was though.

screenshots for the Interstate mod look awesome - looks JUST like the proper I/S82 game! woo! am in the queue for the download for this one!!!

supposedly there's a Stargate mod too - not really big into Stargate - but could be worth investigating

interstate82 mod is bloody good - been playing it since 9am today - just come off.
think it's actually more fun than standard battlefield and doesn't seem to suffer from any of the graphical glitches of DC.
roadrace maps tend to be a bit of a pain in the arse though - same problem as TrackMania suffers from - ie too tricky n fiddly and you fall off things a lot - loop the loops etc are cool though.
great variety of cars n guns - cars that drop mines are fun - as are cars with turbos and under-car jets (!!!) woosh. If you find a monstertruck get in it and keep hold of it - brilliant for crushing other cars - improve handling by lowering suspension until you come up against someone.
Can also get out of your car and run about - mainy of the flags are on top of buildings which forces you to get out of car infact - you're equiped with a pistol and throwing knives (rightclick to slash) and a ratchet for fixing car.
some of the maps also have light aircraft - mainly used for travelling between flags but can also use them to fly along dropping mines in front of enemy cars.
top top fun - and again totally free. what's happening to the net at the moment? - it's turning into a playground for the penniless!!

Aye, played Interstate all last night, brilliant fun.
Deathrace maps can be fairly humerous when everyone is bunched up, though I think it would be improved if the passenger seats were weapon equiped to help foil the competition.
Instad of choosing starting weapons everyone has a standard load out and then can pick up shotguns, rifles and the like around the level, putting lots of emphasis on using the vehicles which all come packing weaponry

we've since discovered there are gunshops (empty til you cap the flag for that sector) where you can buy explosives n sniper rifles etc, and burger bars where you can regain health.
