I have a Samsung SH-B123L Blu-ray/DVDRW but am having problems getting it to run any blu-ray disks, using the bundled software PowerDVD 9.

I keep getting this error

"Cyberlink PowerDVD is not able to play the protected content on your digital output device. Switch to an analog output (VGA, D-Sub) and try again (Error Code = 0107)"

btone is probably right. afaik the delightful hdcp thing won't deliver hi-def to anything other than compliant devices but it's more than happy to deliver shite quality copies to other devices.

I have VLC for watching video already, but that doesnt work either, i get this error when trying to play

"This Blu-Ray disc need a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it."

Why isnt my computer HDCP-compliant? Whats the point buying a Blu-ray drive if I cant use it

yep , it all to do with them trying to stop people making digital copy's, the failed to do that and now legit users pay the price in having to use stuff like anydvd to use their harware/software

Yes, the only disks I've had trouble with have been badly scratched ones, but even then it's made a better job of it than any alternatives (and I've tried a few).

Cheers
