anyone have suggestions as to good broadband?

currently with bt but it seems to cost a beellion pounds for 38 meg. and i hate them. seem to use about 40 gig a month although i have no idea on what. plan is unlimited.

primary reason for changing would be horrible cost.

Can you get Virgin? Service is great, very rarely fails, never get game disconnects and there seems to be no choke on downloads.

38Mb, are you on fibre? I get about 20Mb on Sky ADSL.

If you're on fibre then you're really either BT or Virgin. If you're on ADSL you can choose whatever you want but you'll most likely still be on BT underneath. BT pwns j00.

plusnet. *shudder*

i'm not in charge of teh bill so we went bt again. it proved cheaper to upgrade to mental broadband than it was to keep paying what we were paying for semi-mental broadband.

apparently it takes a week. to flick a switch. sigh.

I can't get fibre yet. I find this most annoying.

Well, I could get Virgin but cable TV sucks.

I use Zen Internet for the last 13 or so years never a problem with them but I can only get 8meg due to living in the countryside.
I will be moving to a nearby town which just built a new housing estate so I am hoping they have laid fibre or cable to actually enjoy faster internet. While I like to keep Zen as they are the best provider around (as voted by Which!) :p I am tempted by the fibre/cable + tv packages which will save me money as im paying for Sky as well.

You should try dealing with them at a business level then ;-) They can be 'challenging'. Their offices are pretty cool though
