The file C:\WINDOWS\system32\crt32_v2.dll is a Adware threat.

got this beasty in my comp, apparently downloads other adware things and installs them on my comp... thing is, can't get rid of the fecker... safe mode, tried it, dos in windows (really long shot i know)... always says its in use... i'm gonna search round now, but just wondering if any of you know a quick solution whilst i'm looking round lol :)

dunno if its related to the problems i've been having lately, my network seems to hate me, works fine on the other computers in the network, but at the moment this comp has trouble getting connected to even x-fire or msn, and downloads at around about 1.2kb/s... swweeeet :\

well got that adware... still getting the absolutely terrible download speeds... its not the ADSL line, downloaded some stuff successfully at full speed on the other computer... though here, it starts well then drops completely off... wireless network, though the card says its working fine, the connection is apparently "excellent"...

though using anything through the network, i.e. accessing the router is painfully slow :( help?

Mate I know you say norton's found nothing but go to www.symantec.com anyway, go to the download removal tools section and then download and run the ones for the Korgo virus and Sasser, then get back to me :)

i can't download anything... thats the problem, the connection speed is 1kb/s at best, and usually just comes up saying lost connection and dies, i tried downloading spybot last night and its just not having it... i'll try them again today, but i think its gonna come to format :\

after watching my network stuff last night though, its really wierd, it seems to work ok, but only in pulses, bring the average connection speed down very much... and also, it doesn't send many packets, as in, in 5 minutes it will send about 200 packets max... but somewhere it sends 500 or so packets by the time the computer has booted which i find pretty damn wierd :\

gona give spybot a pop again and stuff

Bud, you keep mentioning how it's ok with other computers, can you not download from one of those computers, save on to a floppy,CD,stick and then upload on to the computer your having the hassle with?

Sure there is a reason why not but just thought I'd ask.

hehe, that would require walking :p

however, did manage to wait 45 minutes for a 4mb download lol, got spybot, got those two norton things... heres what i've done:

scanned both in normal and safe mode (system restore off for safe mode)::

ad-aware, spybot, and norton... all found nothing, did scans of every hard drive on my system, so apparently the system is clean now.

however, still getting the problems, i'm gonna uninstall and re-install all my network settings and the card and just start anew with that crap... if that fails, format time. unless you got any more idea's?

I may be reading it wrong but you said you tried dos in windows. Have you booted just into dos mode and tried to delete manually? if its just this one adware file?

Hit f8 on bootup and select launch windows command prompt i think, its just command prompt i beleive with the MINIMUM windows stuff running at all.

was loading safe mode with command prompt... however, heres what i've done:

did all that plus, deleted the network card reinstalled completely (in another pci slot for fun), had fun trying to get back on the network, did about 2 hours worth of fiddling, before sitting down and just monitoring the network...

it was detecting it in pulses like it did before, would detect it for 3 seconds then loose it... so i thought whats going on here, read the manual and said something about phones and stuff interfering...

as crazy as it sounds, the only conclusion i can come with (since its working full speed again now), my desk has a steel leg (i think its steel) running down by where my computer is... its partly in the direction of the router from the pc... what did i do? moved the pc backwards about 3 inches, and pointed the aerial at the router from here... voila... it works

wierd or what? lol

Ther is a settiing in both Ad-Aware and Spybot where they startup before anything else on your system . Try that.
