Diablo 3 Beta test

Interesting article from a D3 fansite Re T2vs D3
http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/torchlight-2-hands-on-report

I'm sure beta testers are not allowed to comment too much - or are you?

i cant compare it to TL2, as i havnt played TL2...

but from what that article says, TL2 has many of the same problems of TL1 - so it'll probably get dull just as fast. D3 otoh seems to have eliminated a lot of the problems of D2, in the name of making it more fun to play.

but apparently, i'm a carebear casual type, because i dont see the 'fun' in having your character turn out to be shit at high levels, because you didnt realise you shouldn't spend most of your skill points until you hit 30... apparently mechanics like that were what made D2 awesome... at least, according to some folks on the d3 forums they are. but as someone who likes my games to actually be fun and intuitive to play (rather than having to research the best way to do it before you create a character), D3 seems pretty good to me.
maybe TL2 will be good too, who knows. i like that they've got multiplayer (you know, like they said TL1 would get in a post-release patch...), but the fact that they havnt completely rethought the gear and skill systems worries me a bit.

People moaning about that skill stuff from D2 are talking bollocks, you can respec all the time now anyway, so that point is completely null lol :D

well yeah, but you start with one, and you can solo normal mode before level 30 on most classes, so thats 2 before you need to make big skill decisions.

I wasn't having a go at you, mostly at the elitist people who play diablo 2, and want to keep it in their little elitist corner of the internet lol. Games are getting to easy at the moment, but whinging about silly points isn't going to do their side any favours lol

I remember the big moan about diablo2 when it was new was it was too "bright" and "happy". People were boycotting the game and crap over it lol! (granted, nobody actually didn't buy it, just like the last CoD boycott)

You should try Dark Souls ! :) As for the brightness as long as they is some control over it, some can have it dark and dingy and I can have it nice and bright so I don't spend 5 minutes walking into a wall :)

Hmm ladder reset? Might fire up my accounts and have one last hurrah on D2 and build the same thing as a always do to MF. The ultimate meteorb sorc!

WTB..

Tals arm/amu/belt
WT's
Shako
Wizzy spike
2 x lidless
Conviction
Fortitude in Eth Archon Plate
Infinity in Eth cryptic axe
Eth Vamp gaze

Not too much!

I own Demon's souls, which I intend to complete before Dark souls, I know they aren't really linked, but I'll never finish it if I don't. Meh, time restraints and skyrim are getting in the way.

I'm not looking for a game thats going to make me hate myself in a Contra 3 kind of way, but at least make me worry sometimes. Nothing gets the feeling of being in Hell mode on a HC character and immediately dropping to 1/10 health and running away shouting any 4 letter words that immediately come to mind.
