Did I miss something?

I saw the thread in the other forum about "Doing more stuff" which is fair enough. My highest is only 37/38 and I ain't overly fussed with powerlevelling my way to oblivion; other folks are so hey, if it floats your boat more power to you.

But... since that post I've seen nothing to say "Next <insert day here> we're all going to Disneyland. Bring sandwiches."

Now tonight Legs "had to leave". Had to? Really?

Was anything actually organised after the "Doing more stuff" post? I honestly apologise if sandwiches were in fact brought in readiness and no-one turned up, but I for one didn't see anything. And I'm on most days.

If you organised stuff and no-one came, fair enough, but if all you did was say "Hey! Let's do something!" then sit down and not actually organize anything...

I can't post in the other forum so I posted here...

Legs more than anyone has tried to get things going since coming back. Unless people have been under a rock, most days and nights instance raids are trying to be organised with sometimes no feedback so thats probably why. Its a bit of a joke to say nothing is being arranged.

When I started playing again a few peeps told me that a lot of the guys left weren't interested in raiding, which is fair enough, but you can't really call Scolo and Strat raids anymore. They are just 5-man instances. We can't even put together 5 people most nights willing to do anything.

I'm not sure if it was a piss take or not but one night after trying to get something going with no success, someone popped up and said that we must start doing some instances soon. How I laughed.

The funny thing is people keep saying they want to do it, then when it comes to the crunch, don't put themselves forward when something is being arranged.

If people really don't want to do any of the high lvl content then fine, but folk keep saying they are keen, then say nothing when its being sorted out.

My point is partly if they were arranged, how were they arranged?

If all you (not "you" personally, whoever) did was shout in /guild, I'm not surprised you get no response. People are mostly busy; perhaps they're fighting, or in a group, or have a different channel window open or maybe they went for coffee and a crap? It doesn't take long for those 2 lines to scroll off the top of the window.

From memory, please correct me if I'm wrong, but when we used to play DAOC didn't folks arrange by posting here with dates saying when they wanted to go? It didn't have to be weeks in advance either, just 3 or 4 days which sounds like a lot but it's a rolling schedule so with organisation (which is really what we're talking about I suspect) you could RAID regularly if people wanted to go and knew it was happening. That way people have notice, they have time to get the 2 levels they need etc. They can post to say "I'll be there! I can clip my toenails on Thursday instead!"

So the reason is just that not enough time is given in advance?

I have to say that this has happened almost all of the time, which means that everytime something is trying to be arranged, which has been quite a lot in the last 2 or 3 weeks, everyone has missed it everytime or could not make it? Sorry but thats rubbish mate no offence. Generally most other things in guildchat get a response.

Its got to a point in the last few days where any message about doing an instance gets no response. Looking around the guild on these nights none of the peeps seem to be doing anything particular. There are a couple on AV every night and most other folk seem to be playing alts or farming WS or some such.

I'm not having a pop. People play how they want and if peeps really would rather sit in AV or farm their little part of the world most nights and just have a laugh in /gc then thats fine.

Legs has moved on and I've started mucking around with a little shaman on horde terenas but if someone wants to do something, I'll be around.

and as for saying post here thats a joke right?

when the last thread about doing more was put up and i asked in guild for peeps to read teh forums it was just one big joke!!!!!!

i even asked for the MoTD in guild to be changed for peeps to read teh forums again a big joke.

hardly anyone in guild uses the forums and i bet half of them dont even know it exsits.

so post here and it will get as much response as it does in guild chat.

In all honesty, it's quiet in /guild quite a lot of the time, it's nothing to do with people asking for instances.

and no, it's not a joke, it's a forum - that's what it's for. and it worked with daoc from memory. the difference is here is permanent, not reliant on the 2 minutes that the lines are visible in a tiny window in the bottom of your screen.

I'm going to try and get back to it Gottaa mate. I've only been able to game at strange times last few months and because of the group thing, DDO was a bit of a struggle for me but I've got some normal game time coming up again soon so will try again.

Might I suggest talking about this in the private area to avoid any possible extra problems being thrown ontop of this one ? :/
