DK advice

Q for u level 80 Blood specced DKs, if any?

I just hit 77 (woot flying again) and have been following a classic 51/0/18 spec.

I am wondering when I hit 80 and maybe get in raids etc whether or not the 18 in Unholy is worth it? Most talents on the build I was following in Unholy seem to be for the temp ghoul that you get.

Vicious strikes 2/2
Virulence 3/3
Morbidity 3/3
Epidemic 1/2
Ravenous dead 3/3
Necrosis 4/5
night of the dead 2/2
is the Unholy bit of the build.

I very rarely use the ghoul and I expect to use one even less in any raid, so I was wondering if I was better using some of these points in Frost for Toughness and Annihilation instead?

Comments please.

i knwo feck all about DK's but this guy does so much damage in raids it's almost not funny. Think he uses a blood spec for single target, and an Unholy spec for aoe / addy fights.

Hope this helps.

Go blood / unholy, i took ravenous dead because it boosted me. in my experience pets die in things so dont rely on it, i went 50/0/21 as i wanted unholy blight for a bit of aoe and it seems fitting for a DK

the 2 in runic power mastery give you a longer dancing rune weapon, i am blood for dps / solo and frost for tanking, love them both but love blood more!!

If you want to DPS as Blood then try something like this.

The point of dipping into Unholy is not for the Ghoul, it's to get Ravenous Dead, Blood-Caked Blade and Necrosis.

Ravenous Dead boosts your strength which increases your attack power which, as a DK, not only increases your white damage but also boosts all your damage abilities, including spells.

BCB and Necrosis both add extra DPS just for hitting things.

Everything else you get out of the 18 or 20 in Unholy is just gravy.

Blood isn't the best at AOE damage, hence Chick's guildmate switching to Unholy for AOE fights, but it is fun.

Haven't played much of late but I was Blood for tanking and Unholy for DPS but thinking of using Blood for both if I play again.
