early order 4 day headstart Up and running

My personal opinion is still give it 3-4 months and 99% of the bugs will be sorted, then it will be a really really good game.

Yeah thats what a few of us think. Its the kind of game i want. Group play, dungeons, not hitting top lvl in a week and not a 'kiddies' game :D

Sounds like we're scattered all over a bunch of servers.

I'm on Hilsbury along with a bunch of the Familijen/Spirit Bond (www.angrygoblin.com & www.hilsbury.com) lot from Eq1. Lag even to US servers seems fine and i've always liked playing on US servers, means it's not too crowded in the evenings and we get a head start on the yanks if there's contested content later.

American servers have the added advantage that generally only one language is spoken on them. Well if you don't count "leet" as it's own language.

Roll on the day an MMO lives on one server, well it does on EVE but other MMO's follow that idea

So whats changed about this game since beta? Since its been out, some people have said its good but even 2 months ago this game was a pile of buggy crap. Just wondering whats changed to make it appealing now to the current people above who are playing it. Feel free to make a long post :)

Apart from bug fixes, they added all sorts of stuff. Beta in this game was the total opposite of beta in WoW, which was basically a publicity stunt. It was a real beta, used for fixes etc.

Lots of things I could say but I'll give just two, in light of what I've just said :

i) when the game went live they changed lots of things from beta (like where mobs are and quests etc) and added lots of things that weren't there in beta; and,

ii) for those who played EQ1, every class is what you think it should have been in eq1. No surprise since the devs have had ten years to look back on everything they did the first time around and fix it.

Plus its kind of cool every time you find a new item which is a server first and you get a message telling you :)

The problem a few of us had is that it was quite bland. Combat did not really flow and the general feel to VG was sluggish. Does it make you log in or lose track of time and then you realise its 4am? It lacked any of the above for me during beta and that also includes late beta. Just wondering if that has changed also or does it still have the same ingame feel to it.

If your busy getting stuck into a good quest line or grouping with friends then it's fairly easy to get lost in the game, defiantly did a few times grouping with some of my old guild.

It's not yet had the effect EQ1 or UO use to on me where I would log in the second after getting home and must play every hour of the day but I'm still enjoying my time so far.

I found that the different starting locations made a huge difference, after playing a gnome I really didn't have any motivation to do the quests because they were a) to hard solo and b) just not interesting. After starting another race and seeing how their starting area was I found it much more enjoyable.

Does it need you to 'work' a 40 hour week minimum to get anywhere?

Cos I've got one of those jobs already!!

Depends how the game goes a bit, there is little to no raid content at the moment but I'm sure some people will already be levelling up for raiding when is comes out, how the raiding works/how long you need to spend is still a question we wont know the answer to for a while. If there is anything else to do at higher levels apart from raid also remains to be seen.

It can be a hard game to level at some points and grouping is almost required, theres not much point grouping unless you have a few hours to play (Much like every MMO) travel can take a while as well so best get a good pair of running boots.

The game was never really created for the casual gamer but at low levels you could happily log on for 30mins and do a quest or something else meaningful, I just get the feeling at medium to higher levels unless you put in a good session youll get little out. (But Ive not been there yet so its only a guess!)
