Bear in mind the following site is anti SoE and EQ in a big way these days, but theres a lot of info.

The bulk of the complaints on that board seem to revolve around EQ2 not being the same as EQ1.

Should point out that this isn't the first phase of beta; this is a more open phase, including all the folks in America who bought Lords of Everquest and the guys on the Legends server.

Closed beta has been going on for about 3 months, albeit a lot discreter than WoW.

Its pants, beta so far has been shocking. We tested some content about 4 months ago with some of the end zones of GoD in EQ1 and the developers were bad at listening then. No change now. So far, i'd say WoW would be the better choice of game.

Vanguard wru ... beta wru !

Update about beta info

Seems to me there gona get this game out around the same time or even before wow,no matter what its state is since it seems the patches and added players in the beta are comming when they say regardless of any feedback from the testers themselves. At least wow seems to have changed some of there plans along the way, taken stuff out that didnt work amoungst the tester aswell as putting stuff in certain spells how they handle death etc.I get the impression from that EQ2 statement apart from a few bug fixes the patches are comming as they were planned before the beta even started, and there on a set time scale to match WOWs launch regardless of any feedback.I dont expect another AO think the servers and game will be stable enough to play at least, but wont be surprised at another SWG or even a AC2

Don't be fooled by the hype though, mate. Companies will often claim one thing to damage the day 1 sales of a competitor - HL2 did it to D3, for example, even though we all knew D3 would launch first...

Anything is possible after SWG. Just have to cross fingers & hope. Plus we have WoW to fall back on.

Also, AO is very slick these days - so even games with horrendous releases can recover. Dunt think SWG has though by the sound of things, but the problem there is the basic premise, not stability / etc.
