I wasn't planning on getting it, as I didn't get into the first one that much, but I've heard fairly positive things.

its hard to describe exactly. part of it is the lack of persistance to things - for example, i drive through an enemy camp, and get attacked. fair enough. so i kill all the enemies, and make sure theres none left. i come back 2 minutes later having driven 50 yards down the road and turned round - and they've all respawned. also the fact that there's 2 opposing factions in the game - but i'm yet to see any difference between them (in that they both attack me, regardless of if i'm working for them or not), and i've never once seen them fighting each other.
oh, and it has the traditional problem of games like this... that soft cover has no effect on enemies shooting. they know exactly where you are, even if your the other side of a bush they cant possible see through - because their targetting engine only worries about *hard* cover, like walls and stuff.

At first its quite fun. Clearing checkpoints using various tactics etc. Nice graphics, the usual stuff that they hyped about.
Couple hours into in, things start to get really annoying.
Checkpoints respawn as was mentioned. There are also alotta checkpoints. You cant even drive through them cos they are quickly in a jeep and chasing you while some dude is blazing away on the mounted gun bloeing the crap out of your 10 hp car.
Dumb AI. You can headshot someone with a shotgun and the guy 10 yards away doesnt hear while other times they hear a silenced weapon 50 yards away.
Stupidly mad life they have. Can unload 20 rounds from a PKM(a big machine gun) into a guy and he still doesnt die.
Missions get bland fast. Theres only so much go here and kill or blow up you can take. Add checkpoints are at every other god dam junction.
Far cry did so much right but put it all together so wrong. Buy it when its in the bargin bucket or get a torrent. Prefereably the later. Fuck securom, the anti hack shit is making more people use hacked games and totally defeating the purpose it was made for. Hell, farcry was hacked and out on torrents before the release of it and its making me more likely to get hacked games and burn to DVD to keep then buy over hyped games clinging to the success of its past.

As sad as it is, im using a trainer i downloaded and its making the game 100 times more fun.
Its got a tonne of features which aer your typical God mode etc but the two im using are, Easy Kills (5 rounds kills mobs like it should do imo not 20) and a teleport feature which lets you 'bind' yourself wherever you want.

Dude here at work echos whats been said here. Said its pretty but flawed. the ai is stupid and the respawn is comical, said he torched an area of jungle, turned around and it had magically repaired.
Im kinda glad, way too many games coming out in the run up to xmas and i cant afford em all.. this is one crossed off the list.
