Rovers are running an exclusive once-in-a-lifetime auction that will make the dreams of one lucky supporter come true.

The club is offering one Gashead the opportunity to become an official Bristol Rovers player for the whole of the 2005/06 season, and to be awarded the number 13 shirt in Ian Atkins' official squad list.

The prize will also include a complimentary season ticket for the 2005/06 campaign, a full 2005/06 Rovers home kit complete with printed name and number on the back, and Coca-Cola and Football League logos, an official one-year deal as a non-contract Rovers player and official registration with the Football League as a Rovers player.

The winning bidder will also receive copies of their official Football League registration forms, will have their name listed in the squad list on the back of every 2005/06 matchday programme, will have their name listed on the official club website, including an optional 'personal profile', and will be introduced to the crowd at a home game as club's 'latest signing'.

There will also be the opportunity for a photograph with manager Ian Atkins and/or favourite player(s) that will be signed.

The prize can be claimed by the winning bidder themselves, or be offered as an amazing present for a friend or a Gashead in the family.

Well even if it is true, it doesn't guarantee you get to play.

There was a very good program on BBC3 not long ago called Liddle Dreams (IIRC) where Ralph Liddle (Royle Family fame) tried his luck at getting a job as a professional footballer.

It is really hard work (even in Div2) and you get to play far less and train far more than the casual observer might believe.

People are free to dream of course.
