Cool,

Will be on tonight with Pitette. No idea about adding friends, or how any of the social stuff works. Oh and after discovering that you can play musical instruments and there are websites that actually have gone to the hassle of actually working tunes out (choons) I'm prolly going to be hooked for a while.

After wandering around a bit, doing the intro area and the very simple 'follow the fat dwarf through a mine just like DDO' sequence to get to the proper world, missing your message, I finally logged off at lvl 7. Was stumped to find the master of novices so opted for the Scholar path. Enjoyed so far and have wasted the little cash I've made so far in learning to play every musical instrument available to me... just need the instruments now!!

Will do mate, rolled a hunter as well to try out something a bit different and was enjoying until I got the "open your wallet cheapskate" message.

Cheers for the concert btw, gave me a chuckle and inspired me to download a list of the most anoying songs I could find :)

They will introduce it free to the Uk (I bought a lifetime sub for �95 3 years ago so have got my moneysworth many times over...), just a matter of when

Free play is turning out very much like DDO was. Limitations on character classes, inventory space (major pain in the arse) and even auction house use. All can be sorted out by using Turbine Points that are dished out in larger amounts than LotRO currency.
Think I'm going to stick with playing for a while, just to see how things go but I'll be back on WoW before long.

I did enjoy my brief time playing this, even though I never actually got my Minstrel to play an instrument (which seemed a flaw), and the free to play model really does seem to be proving it's worth now.

You use your instruments to play healing songs and all your skills - you can buy an instrumen t and then go to the Fat Lute website and download a lot of tunes...

MY favourite is still Boney M: Daddy Cool :)

Hit the Strider quest chain the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Impressed that this is free and doesn't lag like a bitch on my laptop anywhere close to the way that WoW does even though I'm on US servers.

Turbine points are dished out fairly frequently as long as you make sure you grind deeds as well as quests.

Pit's pleased for once.
