Ever since beta max SONYs mission seems to be to create media formats they have all the rights to,mini disk media stick umd and others not forgetting that they bought all those movie studios and music lables.Personally i think ALL sony exec see the PS3 as a tool to sell blue ray,and wile the guy might get a rude phone call for saying it in public they prob all think the same.

The fact on the usa launch they bundled in a blue ray movie in with the ps3,but not the $50 cable you needed to be able to view it in HD says a lot.Give people 1 blue ray movie for there collection to stop em buying a HDdvd player,if they had stuck a plain old DVD player in it it would have been out a LOT sooner a LOT cheaper and they could spend more time and effort going on about its game play and not its eye candy

Gamestop and EB Games is offering $100 off the purchase of a PS3 by handing over your PS2.

Someone else gathered these sources but seeing these two only 3 days apart sony really can't get a break with the PS3 it seems.

On the plus side hopefully it'll mean when it does launch in the EU it'll have enough stock to avoid the e-bay mess that happened in the states and all the actual gamers will be able to get them without paying over the odds
