We need a hobby forum :)

GW launch new thin/thick glues. 4.10 each for 5gms
Filla Glu : 4.08 (thin, medium, thick viscocity) 20gms

And then if you turn up at a GW store and try to use anything but their own modelling supplies they stop you.

I dont get it. Why so bloody expensive???

I think because Corporate GW were always money-grabbing shysters, coupled with the fact that its a niche market and they dont sell lots, comparatively.

When I worked in supermarkets I asked a manager why the speciality cheeses were expensive and the bulk cheese so cheap. I thought that as you sell loads of the bulk and little of the speciality, you'd have the bulk more expensive to maximise profits. Obviously he pointed out that as you dont sell a lot of the more speciality stuff, you have to charge as much as you can for it, as reducing the price isnt going to generate you any more profit from extra sales. If we could start another rpg/wargaming boom like in the late 70s early 80s - I bet they would bring prices down if they were selling tons.

if there was a wargaming boom... games workshop would happily make up some bs about 'oh, the supplies are more expensive because of the demand, so we've had to increase the prices by another 50%'
i did love the change to finecast recently... 'as you know, metal is getting more and more expensive, so to reduce the costs and allow for higher quality of models, we've changed to finecast!'... oh cool, so that'll be a reduction is costs, and an increase in quality! oh wait no. finecast costs more for the same models, and has much more problems with bubbles and shite in it. so they're making more profit off worse models, great... and dont get me started on the 20 for codexes, when they used to cost 8-10 and have loads more in them...

glad that we've switched to warmachine at the moment. models are still expensive, but they at least dont seem to make them *more* expensive the more of them they sell...

Warmahordes, dystopian wars and Malifaux seem to be the big drawers down sarf currently. Im playing Dust Tactics waiting for Mr Chambers Dust Warfare release later this month.

ive sold my nids and Necrons and have left myself with the Marines mostly for my eldest son.

I'm considering selling my gobbo's simply for space reasons, Cad brought down Catan and we tried a few other board games (which reminds me I need to also sell some of the board games I didn't like), and I found the board games as much if not more fun, and alot more accessable (We've played Catan quite a few times with various friends now), and take up alot less storage space. The fact every time I look at changing my army I have to also consider the cost does put me off,

Wierdly getting a pretty nice Ukulele was cheaper than my current gobbo army :/
