Group/Raid Quests

I was talking with Emap just a minute or two ago and we were discussing the number of group/raid quests that people are in the progress of doing. Essentially there's a lot where you need a full group or raiding party to do and we were wondering what sort of 'in house' force we could put together.

A few of the quests we thought about were:

Restouring the Ghoulbane
A Missing Mask
Stiletto's Orders Intercepted
A Strange Black Rock
Hadden's Earing

The one's above are all Herritage so well worth doing for the status etc. but I'm sure they're not the only ones peeps want to do. Basically the group/raids for the above include:

Restouring the Ghoulbane: A trip to Cauldron Hollow (and Chamber of Imorrality???)
A Missing Mask: Nek Castle to get the Quest, then wandering round there killing mobs in the castle.
Stiletto's Orders Intercepted: Cove of Decay trip.
A Strange Black Rock: Chamber of Imorrality.
Hadden's Earing: Nek Castle.

Really just wondering what people thought about organising a couple of these whether they wanted to do them and what stages they're at. If you've got other quests that should be here please mention them (my brain is fuzzy atm).

Been thinking of this myself. After last night there are a few of us also on the zek boat trip stage we just need a healer or would have done it by now.

Angau has couldron hollow access from another quest but not sure if its a one shot access (was a key I found in a chest) or even if the instance will be different to the access quest instance.

Coedwig can be sued for osme of those too as I am going to try get him to the same points for the guild status points if nothing else.

If I recall Angau is on the

Nek castle and CH bit of GB
Need the quest for missing mask (lvl req?)
Not got orders yet.
Book of death for black rock.
Nek castle on haddens.

Also started shiny brass halberd but not sure whats needed apart from high quality bear meat so far.

I put together a group last night to get a few more people to the boat part of Zek access, which seemed fairly successful.

We now have 5/6 (depending on whether Karrison got his done in a separate group) to do the boat.

There is also the EL access quest which takes a group.

Cove of Decay is a raid zone can get in with 6 but its 6 to 12 as the mobs are ment for 2 groups,if your not to high like taking hath with you and greying everything out.

Lest we forget the levels some of us have passed already, there is also;

Sepulchre of Jehanda (VS)
Into the Hive (CoB)
Corrupt? Catacombs (Ant)

All of these take a group to enter, the first 2 have access quests associated with them the third involves buying stuff from some NPCs in Antonica near the Oracle Tower.

I am at the entry bit of each of them but can never find enough people on to get in (need 3-6 in each case).

We should really try and get a Heritage Day or two sorted out

As far as I know these are all of the Heritage Quests and where they start

The Journey is Half the Fun (Journeyman's Boots) - Antonica - lvl 20
The Return of the Light (Greater Lightstone) - Commonlands - Lvl 20
These Boots Were Made for Walking (Dwarven Work Boots) - Ant - Lvl 20
Dragoon K'Naae of the Thexians (Shiny Brass Halbard) - Nek Forest - Lvl 24
Restoring Ghoulbane (Ghoulbane - duh!) - North Qeynos - Lvl 25
A Strange Black Rock (Glowing Black Stone) - Antonica - Lvl 25
An Axe from the Past (PGT) - TS (need to speak Giant) - Lvl 25
Hadden's Earing (Fishbone Earring) - TS - Lvl 25
Silleto's Orders Intercepted (Manastone) - TS - 28
Training is a Shield (Shiny Brass Shield) - Zek - Lvl 30
A Missing Mask (Guise of the Deceiver) - Nektropos Castle - Lvl 31
Foomby's Stolen Goods (Bag of Sewn Evil Eye) - EL - Lvl 32
The Reaching Blade of the Assasin (Serrated Bone Dirk) - EL - Lvl 35
It Can Be Rebuilt (The Stein of Moggock) - East Freeport - Lvl 37
An Eye for Power (Tobrin's Mystical Eyepatch) - Everfrost - Lvl 40
By Hook or By... (Heirophant's Crook) - Rivervale - Lvl 40
Rescue the Greenhoods (Short Sword of Ykesha) - Zek - Lvl 40
Saving Soles (Golden Efreeti Boots) - Lavastorm - Lvl 40
The Bone Bladed Claymore (like duh!) - Stormhold - lvl 40
The Lost Legend of Lavastorm (Crown of King Tranix) - Lavastorm - Lvl 40
The Teachings of Yoru (Flowing Black Silk Sash) - Antonica - Lvl 40

Most of our most regular players range from lvl 28-34 with a few up in the 40's who have been doing them solo anyway.

We could probably muster 2 groups if we really tried and co-ordinated it for a time/date when everyone could commit to being there.

We have :-

Mosop (34)
Dimitrius (34)
Afama (33)
Unny (32)
Newk (31)
Prism(x) (30) - not sure if he's still actively playing tho
Basha (30)
Arknen (30)
Omzig (30)
Angau (29) or Coedwig (30)
Slainagain (28)
Muriel (28)

That's 11 or 12 people - (nearly) 2 full groups - with at least 1 healer in each group (Dimi and Omz)

I've limited it to where we have the most people who play regularly within the 6 level xp range - not trying to exclude anyone, but if we include Emap (37) we have to drop down to 6 people, and if we include Ibilaan (26) we have to drop down to 9 if we want people to still get xp.

The quests that fall within the lowest in that range (me :) ) are

The Journey is Half the Fun (Journeyman's Boots) - Antonica - lvl 20
The Return of the Light (Greater Lightstone) - Commonlands - Lvl 20
These Boots Were Made for Walking (Dwarven Work Boots) - Ant - Lvl 20
Dragoon K'Naae of the Thexians (Shiny Brass Halbard) - Nek Forest - Lvl 24
Restoring Ghoulbane (Ghoulbane - duh!) - North Qeynos - Lvl 25
A Strange Black Rock (Glowing Black Stone) - Antonica - Lvl 25
An Axe from the Past (PGT) - TS (need to speak Giant) - Lvl 25
Hadden's Earing (Fishbone Earring) - TS - Lvl 25
Silleto's Orders Intercepted (Manastone) - TS - 28

So if we want to do this it would be best if we all had those quests or were actively working towards the pre-requisites required for them (Nek Castle access, CoI access, Cauldron Hollow Access, Giant Language, etc..)

We could then make a concerted effort to get everyone through all or part of one of those on a certain evening/day.

As an aside we really need to look at patronage - there are a fair few toons who are patrons that we know are no longer going to be playing (Olwen, Anjayli, Phantasm, Chaev, Crowleelou). Having those as patrons will seriously dilute the guild status we earn, since they are never going to be earning any more status. Can we remove the patron flag from people we know will no longer be playing? If they decide to come back later we can add them as patrons again at the point where they're ready to complete their first heritage quest.

Ok - just realised how long this post is getting. Shutting up now.

Generally speaking, I am still playing EQ2, too. I am just currently on a bit of a break due to rather long working hours and work/gaming related health problems. There are only so many hours you can spend sitting on your butt before your spine starts complaining. ;-)

I am also interested in completing the heritage quests, but tend to be stuck on them in places where nobody else is stuck. If we want to organise something in advance for the heritage quests, I will do my best to be there, though. :)

I'm afraid I've suspended my EQ2 account and i'll be giving Wow a whirl for while. I played the wow beta for the last week or so and really enjoyed the laid back style of gameplay. As many people have said, Wow is far less demanding timewise, than EQ and that suits my current situation.

Never say never though, I may well get bored with Wow within a few months, then jump back into Norrath and play catch-up.

Are any of those previously mentioned the

"Where will this lead me?"

quest?

Not sure how that fits in with the bigger picture as I think its connected to the Keep of Immortality or something. Definitely need a group to kill the 3 named in RoV (one of which is the named for GB?)

Several of us have done the "Where will this lead me?", but I am willing to help anyone needing to do this. The only pain with this one is that it can take several hours per named as you have to basically kill the room spawn then there is a random chance to spawn the named. Make sure you have a whole evening free and don't expect to get all of them in one sitting although hopefully you will.

"Where will this lead me?" quest is the access quest for Chamber of Immortality, which you'll need if you need to kill Varsoon the Undying (eg, Strange Black Rock heritage).

I don't think the level spread in a group is static at 6 levels, from what I gather you can group with anyone within 75% of your level (that's from the perspective of a high level grouping with lower level chars) and still get xp/quest updates. (eg, Mos at level 34 got xp/quest updates when he grouped with Hath at level 43 for the Foomby quest).
