Can it be fixed? Don't need this for the lowbie I'm toying around with atm, but would if I wanted to play Byzah again.

erm .. secret chest ... secret room ... a lever .... ohhhhhhhhhhhhh we likes the sound of that we does, or is this really old news and I've already stood in said secret room and not realised it ?

since noone answered this before:
the chest in question is in the room just before the viewing room. (the viewing room is the room you need they key of rattlegore to get into)
this chest is behind an unvlickalbe portcullis thingy, that is opened using a torch on the wall (southeast corner) of the room downstairs with Jandice.

if its a simple thing, just ignoring the error message should be fine... if its complex its probably not something that can quickly be explained over the forum

where are you guys getting the updated addons from, so wierd trying to play without them?

What addon is causing the error ? I don't have an active sub anymore so can't login to see what the error is but I'd make a guess that it would be the "perl" addon which is causing trouble (mainly as it does so much) or possibly the "recap" (DPS one).

I'll try and help if I can but errors in game are normally a little bit of a bugger, easy enough to track down but fixing the first error normally just moves down the line to another error (as I'm assuming they changed the UI slightly)

edit : as far as curse gaming goes it's normally clogged up for 2 days after a patch is released.

Gott,

Logo is having an error pop up if you mouse over it, but is still on screen and working.

IBB has disappeared and will not respond to /ibb show/hide.

Autobar has disappeared and /autobar config shows a messed up command box.

Lootlink was showing an error box when mousing over any item in the inv.

Perl is messed up

Getting this error whenever i mouse over a player or mob from tipbuddy, IBB doesnt work and Autobar sometimes shows

ui.worldofwar.net or www.curse-gaming.com are the major 2 addon sites for WoW m8.

With all those causing problems I'd say best to pick up either someone else's addon mix (loads to choose from) or goto curse (which as of a few months ago was the most popular) and either just update the one's which need updating or start again from scratch.

I would say though that if Blizz keep on introducing the kind of changes which affect the UI like this this problem will happen with every patch and you just need to wait until the dev of that addon fixes it

The best answer I've seen was on one of the addon sites which in effect patches your addons automatically for you, can't remember which one but that is the way ahead and I know curse was looking at doing this (so already may have).

Oh and tip buddy allowed you to totally configure the tooltip you get when you mouse over someone/thing

Last tip is sometimes devs do bring out fixes before they go wrong (playing around on the test server), so sometimes you can in effect get it fixed before it goes wrong, and avoid the congestion which happens after a patch.

curse is good, but because its so popular is practically unusable for the few days following any patch
personally, i just deactivate any addons i dont really need (so just leave shardtracker, and CT_raid on basically) and wait it out. those 2 have tended to last quite well through patches anyway. in fact, i'm not sure shardtracker NCS has been updated for a few patches, but it still works
