Health Problems...

Hello people,

I just wanted to give you a quick heads up that I may be vanishing from EQ2 for a while with no way of contacting me. Those of you that are aware of my health related problems in the last week, the final verdict has come in.

Seems I have rather huge gallstones (in the area of 3x3 cm) and a permanently imflamed gall bladder. So their decision is to remove the gall bladder. I could alternatively choose to keep a very strict diet and still become colicky in regular intervals - which is painful as all hell.

I am somewhat excited right now, as I am really, really scared of being operated on, but it does not look like I have much of a choice. So one time soon in the forseeable future I will have to go to hospital and get operated on. I will have to spend at least a week in hospital, I am told. Not sure when, but I will do my best to let you know.

Ack Dara, sounds like you'll be better off eventually. Hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the well wishes. :) Current plan is to pick up my papers on Tuesdaym then visit the hospital sometime next week for first talks. After that it is pretty much up to them how long it will take. I will definitely keep you up to date with further information once I have it.

Ouch - sorry to hear about that Dara - I hope the operation goes to plan and that you have a full and speedy recovery.

Thank you very much everybody. Right now it is not certain when the operation is supposed to take place. My doctor said "as soon as possible", but they have to give my body some time to heal from the last colicks. I will definitely let you all know when I know for sure.

Luckily, it seems to be a minimally invasive operation that should allow me to leave the hospital some 2-5 days after the operation. I still should be home sick for about 2-3 weeks afterwards, though, so there should be plenty of time to catch up and play games together. :)

A quick update:

The date for the surgery has been set. I am now supposed to go under the knife on Wednesday, May 11th. I actually expected that date to be much sooner, but it seems like getting operated on is all the rage these days, so everybody wants to sign up for it. Anyway, that means I will be offline from the 11th on, until a time when they see fit to release me. They told me to be prepared to spend the weekend there, so anything between 2 and 5 days seems likely.
