High Ping problem i'm having

GBH

Potatoe?
Ok i had thought the ping prob i've been having in game was the same in all games and related to either spyware or a virus.

Today i've done over 4 different virus scans, Macafee, Norton, and two online ones. Also throughout the day i've done well over 12-15 spyware scans with various scanners, and even delved into the registry to fix a couple of spyware things detected by one that it couldn't do itself.

So now my machines perfectly clear and AA still is giving me high pings well in excess of 10,000.

So I tried BF and it runs perfectly as does warcraft, UO and C&C Generals.

So AA dosn't like me and to be honest i doubt i'll waste more time trying to solve this prob so i'll not be in AA for a long time again :(

Have you run spybot or AD-Aware and updated them both?
I did this the other day and followed ad-awares suggested setup and it found Wild Tangent when it had been running quite nicely for months withought finding it.
Also try the tools that come with spybot advanced mode.

TBH I dont much about this stuff but its worth a try.

Yea i used spybot and adware.

Its a problem i've had for a couple of weeks it just seems to pop up every now and then, I thought i had it sorted last week when i removed a spyware prog but the probs back even though everything i have ran reports my comp as clean.

I only use teamspeak for AA but i've tried AA with and without it and also reconfigured teamspeak to use lower bandwidth.

No joy I'll pop in tomorrow see if anything is different.

However I was play fine for a while today up untill the Map change, maybe thats just coincidence but tbh I don't see how a different map could cause it.

Weird I have changed absolutly nothing and once again it is running perfectly.

I dunno whats going on.

I wonder if the ram or virtual memory or the memory on your graphics card is holding on to too much data in the game.
So when it swaps maps its not dumping the old stuff. You could try the console flush command when you swop servers or the ping gets high.
This doesnt work for me, it crashes my maching but it works for Medi.

I get the problem where when playing AA for no apparent reason my connection to TS, Xfire and the AA game itself drops for about 1 min and then the TS reconnects but by this time I've been dropped from the servah

God knows why, it doesn't happen in any of my other games....

In game try typing 'flush' into your console, it clears the game cache.

Carefull though the game pauses for about 20secs.

Well the probs back lol

I tried flush but it dosn't cure it. I'm wondering is it something to do with my wireless router.

You never had this problem before your router went kaput, and ever since you've got back on the net AA has been getting hoooge lag.

Router i'd say mate.

Im smart.

Hmmm interesting. *Looks outside*

Nah the routers well secured.

Found a cure to my prob though, seems to be the hardware firewall built into my router so i'll have to look up which ports to open.
