A slightly built elf, shorter than is average and painfully thin. His starkl white hair is pulled into a topknot that trails bound in a queue down his back. pale grey eyes stare impassivelly from an alabaster face that almost glows from a lack of colouring. A good deal of his face is obscured however by a pale green scarf that winds around his neck and covers his mouth and chin. The hue matches the tones of the rest of his clothing, in subtle greens and greys arranged in apparently random patterns across clothing that at first appears ragged but on closer inspection is made of many layers each showing from different areas to create the effect of a trail of dull ribbons swirling in the wake of a woodland breeze. No weapons are visible save for a small and strangely shaped wooden club, unadorned yet carefully made.

What the world sees

Lady Helena Atrades

Helena is passionate about helping people, and those who know her would quickly tell of how she aids others. Whether this is speaking up for those who have no voice, or healing wounds of those who otherwise would die, or raising a blade to defend those unable to fight themselves, she is dedicated, even zealous, in the pursuit of what she sees is right.

This committment has ensured her swift progress as a follower of Pelor, championing all that is good. However, it is not without its price.

Many see knightly orders as noble, pious, honourable and glorious. Helena found them to be rigid, prejudiced, bureaucratic and unhelpful. The keeping of their long traditions and maintaining their public image prevented them from acting as swiftly and decisively as Helena wished. As a very young woman she met further resistance in these Orders.

What finally turned her from the paths of the knight were the attitudes of others. She shunned fabulous wealth, her only magical item is a blade she uses to defend those needing protection. She has no noble clothes, no fine trappings, no grand keep. Her armour and shield are functional, affording her great protection, but not gleaming and polished as many knights feel necessary. Helena feels that actions make the difference, and to judge someone by their dress is unjust. Worse, vanity in appearance distracts from the piety, from what really matters to her.

This conclusion caused her to turn away from progressing as a Paladin, and divert her fervour to advancing as a Cleric. Still a Paladin, still resolute in faith, she now believes that aiding others can better be achieved without knightly Orders, as a Cleric.

How to people see her? Friends see her as loyal, neighbours see her as kind and helpful, the community understands her selfless dedication. She rides skillfully, her large warhorse clad in old chainmail, cantering through the countryside as she pursues her church's goals.

Dressed fully in an old suit of full plate mail, she looks mature beyond her young years. Without her full helm, her long flowing red hair falls over her pale shoulders, her green eyes holding gazes confidantly. Her physique is slight, for she often fails to attend to her own meals, favouring feeding others, or seeking to swiftly complete tasks at the expense of her own rest or meals or sleep. Still, slight of frame, in old outdated armour, she still holds a commanding presence. The sacred power Pelor has invested in her radiates from her, a palpable aura that calms those around her.

A finely wrought blade lies in a scabbard on her back, a warhammer on her belt, but most renowned is her blade, "Kitara's Oath," a longsword that glows with a soft light, vanquishing darkness.
