As the title says, I have a new machine about a month old now and I was thinking of reinstalling lords of the rings online, I brought the collectors edition with MoM and the short of it, it just doesnt like it one bit.
Seems LOTRO is very picky and I made sure all admin rights have been placed in folders, I even installed the game in its own game folder so that the rights in x86 folder doesnt cause it issues. I turned off UAC and yet nothing. Everything I tried it just doesnt start the game.
I can start the launcher and choose the server i want to go on, then i get a black screen with the vista icon going round and round. Going into task management just says lotro is not responding.
I have made sure that .net 1.1 and 1.1 SP1 is installed which is what required. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times.
I started a thread on lotro europe and so far no techs have responded, just been other players helping other players trying to fix their problems.
I suppose i could go back to XP which worked on my old machine fine as I played on the Snowborne server, but I really wanted to take the advantage of DX10 which LOTRO does offer and I did built my new rig around that.
LOTRO is the only game so far that fails to load, Darkfall works fine, Darkspace works fine, Company of Heroes and World in Conflict are all ok.
So wondering if anyone else here had or having similar problems. Wanted to take another look at lotro before Champions Online comes out later, but it looking i might be going back to WOW or Warhammer Online at this rate.

Athlon AMD Black Edition Quad 3.0ghz
Asus Crosshair II Motherboard - upated bios.
OCZ Reaper memory 2 x 2GB
Asus Nvidia 295 1796MB Graphic card, drivers latest from Nvidia
Razer Barracuda AC-1 sound card
Coolermaster V8 cooler
Coolermaster RC1100 case, not i guess they matter.
