Is anyone else finding the combat rather long winded and formulaic? A couple of reviewers have talked about how the terrain is much better designed for the "crouch, shoot, loot" style combat used in ME2, as they claim it wasn't particularly well implemented in ME1.

Unfortunately it seems to have taken all the interest out of the fighting so far as it seems if you deviate from this pattern, you get gunned down pretty quickly.

I quite like the combat system, I did find that there are a couple of "bugs" with hiding behind something, and not being able to lean around and shoot unless i moved along a bit more, even if its just a millimetre

I think I only died once in the entire campaign, Had it on casual mind you.

I found that I couldn't just jump in with all guns blazing like I did in ME, I had to use cover and I found myself looking for the next cover spot whenever I was moving along.

Cover + decent sniper rifle = w1n

Upgraded SMG >> Sniper rifle for taking out... almost anything in my experience.

Still playing it from time to time. I'm pretty impressed. The story is good, though the combat wstill feels really samey, at least there are more options with more weapons. When you only had 1 decent power and 2 decent weapons there were many less options.

Off in the shuttle now to test my Reaper IFF... OOps it was a tarp. Didn't see that coming.

Just completed ME2 with all my crew surviving! anyone have any casualties?
I know there is a way of doing it where everyone dies .

Really enjoyed the combat. mostly used assault rifle and ran upto most enemies and punched their lights out with barrier on.

what choices did people make?

There are rumours abound about a new Mass Effect game at the VGA's on December 11th. I have heard mass effect 3 or a new multiplayer game ( could be neither but fingers crossed )

I do like Mass Effect, but I still find it amusing that games still try to show off that this happens lol! You can carry characters over? UNHEARD OF!
