RIP. GReat talent, odd life and definately odd in the later years. Know we will never know if his comeback would have been sensational or a flop.

Even with all he bad publicity and press, he was still an amazing singer/performer. May he rest in peace.

Michael Jackson has cancelled all his future dates.

They were James (aged 9) and Billy (aged 6).

Too soon?

Unforunantly Micheal Jackson was the enbodiment of the weird world of Celebrity lifestyle/culture and the fasination that goes along with it. Clearly Micheal himself thoughout most of his career was just a pawn or puppet, the man himself was borderline retarded (hate using the word, but I can't think of another way to word it), a man with a childs mind who clearly never grow up. His music career died at the end of the 80's and the whole 'Wacho Jacko' thing started showing up after - the face operations and tranformation into a freak, the child mosesting allergations, the messy marriages and the odd way his 3rd child was concived and the frankly strange public appearances. To be honest you can't help but wonder if what happened last night was a blessing in disguise for both him and his children who although have lost a parent may now has a better chance of a normal'er' childhood.

I've got to admit i've never been a fan of the music at all. I think he was probably more a tragic confused figure than a monster - But on saying that i'm not sure i'm happy with wishing him to 'rest in peace' given some of the allegations that have been brought up against him.

I never knew he was also accused of using booze to help facilitate his paedophilia.

"Michael Jackson, who's awaiting trial in California on nine counts of lewd acts with a child and administering an intoxicant to a minor to facilitate abuse"

It's hard to feel sorry for someone who ruined kids lives and got away with it by virtue of being rich.

A mixed bag indeed, always a certain element of sympathy on hearing about the end of a life but have to admit that there is a healthy dose of relief. The poor sod was falling apart at the seams physically/literally and wasn't setting a good example on so many levels.
I do tend to agree with Janie on the mentally retarded, I was never interested enough in him post 'Bad' album to try and found out what really happened and to be honest there was far too much smoke and mirrors. Money grabbing parents are always going to paint it blacker than it was. I would be more inclined to think that due to his aforementioned mental state and his bizarre upbringing his behaviour was 'inappropriate' as in a non-parental adult sleeping in the same bed as a child as opposed to actual kiddyfiddling.

His later nonsense of 'skin disease' (you can get black make-up to even out a tone aswell as white after all) and his atrocious parenting are significant indicators of an unbalanced mind.

Still its over hopefully 'his' kids (again not entirely certain they are what they are claimed to be) will recover and move on and in time he will be remembered more for his decent pop music like Billy Jean, Thriller etc and his stadium gigs which I herad were everything you would expect from a proper showman, rather than the later point making/egotistical crap like Black/White or that bloody Earth song (sorry if I have got these wrong I am not actually a fan)

I must have missed a guilty verdict somewhere along the line.

Yeah fair enough he wasn't found guilty, but he did pay off anyone who pointed a finger at him which made it impossible to prosecute him. One kid got $18m ffs!

I agree that he was a brilliant artist and that he was also mentally ill. I think as has been said before that he had a childs mental age, but that doesn't excuse his 'alleged' behaviour in my book.

Personally I think he bought his innocence just like that other shining example of the american justice system OJ Simpson....no such thing as a guilty rich man it seems.
