Closest summary i can give is: Starpeace done in first person and set in ancient egypt (but less simcity).

Ive got an interview with the dev soon - ive actually been on the beta list for ages but never bothered downloading it.

Prolly do a review on it after launch. (which is saturday noon gmt)

Hehe still havent read up on it yet, thing thats bothering me is monthly price at $13.95.I know its not gona have huge following so the price reflects that a bit, still the price of mmorpg are creeping up.Im pretty confident that SWG will be $14.95 a month now, cant see them trying for more keep it a pretty round number(always minus 5 cents of course:)).Its the fact that these companys dont want to give you 1 game that will occupy all your time, they want you to have time to play and pay for 2 or 3 mmorpgs. If you divide the cost of a mmorpg by the number of hours you play em there dirt cheap at mo,but how long will it last they want a low enough price to attract you so game plays got to go down :(

there is an upside tho, higher pricing on the mmorpgs should push out the 12 yr old greif kids which would make for a much nicer environment, tho granted it would also push out adults that couldnt afford 15-20 quid a month as they have other commitments.

Look on the bright side, you pay 15-20 quid a month and have no life, which in fact saves you lots of cash.

Admittedly I have no life already . . .

Well - you dont have to pay for the game (its a free download) - which is a bit of a saving.

The objective of A Tale in the Desert is to build the ideal civilization by perfecting the Seven Disciplines of Man.

Each discipline is unique. To perfect Art, you must create works of genuine beauty for your fellow players to judge. To perfect Leadership, you must wisely govern your fellow players. To advance in Conflict, you must master the duel, a test of wits, not strength. To advance Architecture, you must build monuments that tower over your fellow players. To progress in Worship, teams of players must master beautiful but complex rituals. To progress in The Human Body, you must maximize your strength and endurance. And to achieve perfect Thought, you must master the sphinx's riddles.

Unfortunately, perfecting the seven disciplines will not be easy. An Evil Stranger is at work, trying to corrupt the Egyptians and turn them against themselves.

The outcome of the game depends solely on the players. The players build their own cities, they choose their own leaders, and they must meet the stranger's challenges. If they can organize themselves and negotiate for what they need, Egypt will flourish.
