NOTE : I haven't quote everything

We have implemented another batch of changes that should help with dialup performance.
Lemme guess, there going to send the dragon around ? :)

The Guild list now properly updates members' online status.
I bet this simply translates to some muppet setting the right datatype of the "online" field.

Many spells should now have their damage ranges and bonus types displayed when examined. This is part of an ongoing effort on our part to provide more detailed spell descriptions.
Weapons, Shields, and Armor now display their proficiency requirement when examined.
WOOT /dance

Monsters should no longer clump up into a mob when encountered in large numbers.
/cry, Burning hands going to be a little more sensible now rather than killing everything as it bunches up in a doorway.

All in all really good :) /cheer Turbine

More importantly WEAPON SET SHORTCUTS!!

Weapon Sets shortcuts are now in! You can now set up a single item shortcut to point to both a main weapon and off-hand item. So, for example, you can now equip two daggers, or a sword and a shield – all with one shortcut. Simply drag two different items into the “weapon sets” panel in your inventory panel to create a single shortcut for two items. Now use that shortcut in your shortcut bar to equip the two items.

1) Only TWO people out of TWELVE get loot after doing a 6 part "epic" type quest.
2) The raid leader chooses who gets loot.
3) Then you have to wait 66 hours before starting the quests again.
4) This game is as good as dead. You might as well play WoW instead. Same stupid mechanic, but less bugs.
hmm say it aint so

I have to say that the loot mechanic seems like the suckiest sucky thing in the whole of sucksville.

Module is live tomorrow. Already indicatations are that the loot system will more than likely change but not before the module hits live.

Wrong. Only two people would appear to get loot from 1 or 2 particular chests in 1 raid instance. The rest of the instances and other chests all give standard loot. Loot is also available at the end of the quest on completion.

2) The raid leader chooses who gets loot.

Best like me then eh L:)

Yes it seems poor from a loot choice but its not as bad as people seem to make out. I expect itll change anyways by May

Knee jerk reaction to seeing this over and done with now ....

Looking forward to see all the new stuff and when we get to actually seeing and killing the dragon here's hoping they change the loot system (which Sporkfire has said they are already considering given the responses, as Zed said).

Onto more fun things though I think "Buddy codes" are going around so if people want to give DDO a try for 10 days for free I'd say maybe make a new thread along those lines and we can get people sorted out who may want to try it out :)

P.S Module 1 is live in the US tomorrow, Satine has said it could be 2 to 3 weeks before we get to see it  Maybe the loot system will have changed before we even get to see it.

Your opinion is worthless....
i like the sounds of everything in the module, but i will wait and see in regards to the Dragon Lootz ! i refuse to get involved in DKP cock swilling bollocks, and anything slightly WoW/EQ related, as i find it offensive.

so let's hope Turbine pull their fingers out of their proverbial assholes and change it to 1 item per player, which i think they will, otherwise there exceptionally fucking stupid >.<

What does DKP stand for by the way as I have never come across it in the past (thankfully it would appear)

DKP was basically born from a lack of trust of the people making decisions on "loot". I'm not sure if it was born in EQ but that's certainly the first time I ever came across it. It was basically adopted as people either didn't trust the neutrality of the person running the raid, or the collective of people who would decide who should get a particular piece of loot.

I think I'm correct in saying CUK would *never* use a DKP system, if there isn't trust between people then all DKP facilitates is a group of people who don't trust each other getting loot (at the most basic level).

If a guild I was in wanted to adopt DKP and nothing was going to stop it I'd simply leave and they can fight over the pixels.

And yes I have written an app to help people run a DKP system, mainly cos as a coder it's quite an interesting thing to do.
