okeys, it wont let me play online, says something to do with my firewall, yet i don't have one setup, but i don't think its to do with that.

I'm running a NoCD patch, because the game decided it wont accept the CD's, it works on my friends computer, but when i put either CD in, it just asks me to insert the CD.... it did this with hegemonia too, i really can't figure out whats wrong, and nobody else seems to have the same problem on there comp...

...any idea's?

i'm on winXP pro, with a standard LG cd drive...

How do I do that!!!!
WinXP PRO has a built in Firewall (albeit a Sh1t one), this is what will be stoping it getting out! Get a real firewall and disable the WINXP one :)

already stopped the winXP one, it let me play it a few times and came up with the error other times, for some reason if i put the CD in, even with the noCD crack, it works... i dunno if this is just coincidence or not

probly find that the NoCD crack is for the previous version of NSF:U. Else it could be that the hack was only designed for the single player game. Btw, have you ever been asked to put in a User code, in my copy I never did, but then I've never tried to play on-line either.

naw made sure i got the correct version, seems to be ok atm, and i've never had to put in the code anyways, i just think it might be the server thats dodgey

the nocd CRACK is probably what's keeping you offline, just put the ****ing cd in you chimp, it being a CRACK and all and altering the gamefiles the server is kicking you off for not having valid info

Also, can we lock and move this thread please, as it's advertising something we're not supposed to do

Theres been a bit of trouble with some Cd/DVD-ROM drives when companies start using a certain security software in patches (theres a big stink about D2 1.10 /War3 1.14/SC 1.11 as the secureROM can bugger up the CD drive so folks keep getting "please insert CD" messages, the ONLY way to fix this is to reinstall your CD/DVD-ROM drivers.
Michelles machine has had trouble ever since the 1.10 beta and I finally found the files this week, she hasn't had the message once since I reinstalled the driver, funny that there wasn't a version to roll back to after it changed.
The "please connect your modem to the internet or disable any firewall" message that Blizz generates happens when the IP has been restricted, maybe THIS is what is stopping you to?

i dunno, i've been getting please insert the cD on a few games, but the NFS:underground seems to be intermittant, sometimes it lets me play, sometimes it doesn't, no problems with diablo 1.10 though... wierd :)

Yeah once the Cd started playing up it played up all the time, you had to keep opening the drawer a few times until it could "see" the disk.
