Not a bad prediction.

I'm going for Man Utd and Chelsea to battle it out for the title, probably Man Utd just taking it. Arsenal look abit of a mess at the minute 2 many players in midfield, yet strangly weak at the back. Liverpool are hard to judge they blow hot and cold they'll be around the top but not sure where.

Spurs will probably 5th but will drop to many points to challenge the big 4, unless one of them has a really disapointing season in the league (like Arsenal last season).

The rest is much of a muchness if anyone gets some early confidence and a good run going they can sneak 6th spot.

Sheff Utd, Man City & one of Warford/Charlton/Middlesbough too drop.

Nearly as good as this one, made in mid February by Rafa (just after the last 16 LFC-Barcelona draw was made).

Quote : Rafa Benitez believes Liverpool will meet Milan in this season's UEFA Champions League final.

The Spaniard has predicted that the two sides could contest the final in Athens in a repeat of the epic showpiece in 2005.

Liverpool face holders and favourties Barcelona in the last 16 and Benitez is confident his troops can cause an upset again like they did against Milan two years ago.

"I think the final will be Liverpool v Milan and that we will win again. It's sure," Benitez told Corriere dello Sport.

Liverpool face the daunting task of Barcelona this week and Benitez has hit out at critics who have ruled out his side's chances of progressing.

"In football there is nothing impossible," added Benitez. "We are ready to astonish you once again.

"Whoever sees us as victims is wrong. We were the same also against Milan in Istanbul's final and to those who see us already beaten by Barcelona, I suggest to see how that match ends."

Gosh, you predicted Man U and Chelsea would be in the top two! Wow! You're such a sage. You also predicted Sheffield United, Man City and either Watford, Charlton or Middlesbrough to go down. So you got none right there, although you managed to get Watford and Charlton in there as potentials out of a choice of 5.

:p

Mind you, I can't talk as I got it totally wrong regarding the bottom 3 - I was convinced that Sheffield United would go straight down and that Charlton would survive because of Darren Bent but then I forgot that they had a bunch of morons @ board level, just like West Ham did.

Still, WHUFC are looking good to stay up. Damn right too, I don't want Wigan in the Premiership coz Whelan and Jewell do nothing but fucking whine ALL the time. Good riddance - they don't even have enough fans to fill their ground v top oppo unless they up the allocation of away tickets to 5K+, like the did against us the other week.

Watford were never going to stay up because their squad was never Premiership quality. I wouldn't have minded seeing Fulham go down either (their owner is an utter wanker) but thanks to Benitez and his amazing picks on Saturday, that is no longer possible.

I believe I was the closest in the prediction thread :) Also Sheff Utd could still go down :p and Man City and Middlebough have both been pretty awful.

I don't see how Sheffield can go down. We'd have to draw or beat Man United (I predict a draw) and Wigan would have to win away @ Sheffield United by two clear goals.

There you go then. Man Utd will probably field a bunch of kids against West Ham as there already have the title so West Ham could easily get something out of that game and Wigan beat Sheff Utd they only actually need to win by one goal not 2.

Fergie has already stated he'll put out a strong team to make it "fair". However, Ferguson and Curbishley are good friends, so don't be surprised to somehow see a draw happen to ensure WHUFC survival and condemn those filthy northerners to the drop :D

It wouldn't surprise me if Sheffield United let Wigan win 1-0 to give them a chance of staying up either.

But then I'm a suspicious person. Plus, corruption in sport when millions of pounds are at stake? Surely not. Tapping up, bungs, etc - it all goes on, its just covered up. Sorry to break this to you but you're incredibly naive if you think that football isn't as bent as Merly.

Unlikely as that result could well send Sheff Utd down, I can't see them giving Wigan a win that could well result in there own relegation. I hope Sheff Utd go out, as a Leicester Fan I think Sheff Utd would be the weakest opposition in the Championship next season.

It would only send Sheffield down if West Ham got a draw or a win at Man United. If, at half time, West Ham are losing 3 - 0, it could easily happen.

If I was Curbishley, I'd get Mark Noble or Reo-Cock to absolutely clatter the best player Man United put on the pitch. REALLY clatter him. That'll soon set the tone and with an FA Cup final coming up in 6 days, they'll bottle it.

Yeah, but there wasn't an FA Cup Final coming up the following week, you numbnuts :D

Sheff Utd don't care about anyone else apart from themselves. Possibly the biggest bag of bollocks statement on football I have read for many a year.

Really? I always had you down as a Sun reader so I would think you read that sort of bollocks every day.
