Just installed Fallout 3 to HD. Near silent gaming on the 360. \o/

Never really noticed much noise from the 360, but then my pc has fans which are noisy!

Quite like the new UI.

Ohhhhh didn't think about that aspect ! I'll install L4D to the HD for the weekend, once I do the NXE update.

Fallout 3 kept stuttering a bit last night. Didn't notice it when playing from disc. Nothing drastic though.

Tried the same for Fable 2, near silent and quicker access. The DVD drive was quite noisey on the Elite.

The reason some games stutter and will actually run slower appears to be related to how the game tries to run faster. Halo 3 has been given as an example where they copy the map to the HDD to speed access, but if playing off the HDD it still copies it and it takes longer than it would from the DVD. If people are using the x-box libraries MS provide it won't happen but people like to make it there own
