PC not working properly

Or at all.

RIP SCAN 3XS it was fun whilst you worked...

Im onto OS rebuild 10 since FRiday evening. The great thing about SSD's - the OS goes on in minutes. But...

Either that or the memory is dieing because im getting BSOD's every time i try to install the incremental drivers needed to support the MOBO, FX card, AV etc. IF its not BSOD/s (which flash up in a second) it functions dont work (admin account cant create new users), or the login screen doesnt appear - just a black screen.... So its back to scan hopefully for a complete overhaul under warranty

Have you tried removing any unnecessary components (sound card et al) and see what happens? Also, remove all but one memory module and see what happes when you try to install an update? then play trial and error to find a suspect module.

I'm no expert, but I think a dead SSD usually means you can't write to it, reading is fine.

Ive added nothing to the system since i bought it..... Everything bar the memory modules and FX card are on board...

Everytime i write to the SSD and reboot i get a BSOD and then an option to repair. Currently its sat in a perpetual loop telling me the registery is corrupt and the self repair cannot repair it...

the SSD hasnt failed yet,,, my guess is its failing... cant see what else would cause it unless its the mobo itself.

That sounds exactly like a failing SSD to me.

But first, try running it with half the memory out in one or the other slots.

Had something similar where a memory controller on the motherboard was faulty and the PC would only be stable with a slot unused.

Does it run from a LiveCD?
Can you run Memtest95 from a USB Boot to test?

Linux is able to access the STATA diagnostics (it's awful) if you get really desperate. I did this on one of our office machines the other day but it's not great.

Mem test last night had red across the board for all four Dimms in. Taking 2 out this morning on 1 channel worked fine (reports the cas as 6-6-6-20) But as soon as memory goes into the other dual channel (reporting 9-9-9-24 - the memories speed) it goes red. Looks like a memory controller on the board has gone... new board im thinking...

So now im really stumped. After playing around with the ram in various combinations in the slots, and getting differeing results, ive put all 4 sticks back in and rerun memtest: Nothing. Nada. looks clean.

Im sending this back i think, i have no clue what (if anything realistically) is the problem now... grr

Had the RAM popped itself slightly out of the socket? I've seen that before due to heat cycling. First thing I always do when I think there might be an issue is reseat the RAM.
