Popped in to have a look around today and was very pleasantly suprised by the changes... No lag, loads of soloable stuff, no need to quest to access the major zones anymore (off to have a peek at Lavastorm ), a decent economy now with lower level items etc much cheaper to buy as the server has aged in levels, mentoring so you can group with higher level friends and nice touches like the mail system etc from WoW along a major revamp of all the classes / combat system on test.

No idea if i'll play for long but as a game it certainly seems a lot more "fun" than it was and worth having a tinker with...

But tbh, I found that it does not really matter what game you play, as long as you play with friends. So let's hope that a few more people poke their heads in again so we can start having even more fun.

OTOH, a lot of people that used to be in CUK and have moved on to other guilds have twinks in your level range. Maybe they can jump in with some info and let you know about them, since it would certainly be fun to group again.

Caught Muriel poking about the other day too pretending to just be wiling away the time.

A few things...

1. The new expansion is due soon and looks really good. Raises the lvl cap to 60 so more work to be done.
2. Mentoring allows anyone, regardless of level to team up with your noobishness and take you places you wished you'd gone but were off playing something else.
3. Some of us have finally got to 50 and are fairly well equipped (as well as being the 76th richest person on the server) and will be able to help out if you do pop in and out.
4. Downside is that more often than not we're raiding (killed Darathar every time we've gone after him so far - have my 2h prismatic which is better for solo tanking lvl46 horoics than my both fabled 1h and shield).

Send me a tell if you get on, and I'll try and do stuff.

Talking of Tells Ark think there is any chance "The Guild" may allow me to come along if they have a space on a Big D raid? Still don't have my prismatic yet and I would dearly love it, haven't got the time to commit to a raiding guild yet sadly, though in a month or so when my full time contract is started i'll have more time and hope to get back into the swing of things (providing the expansion is good)

But aren't you lot all goodie-goodies? Think that was the reason I was on another server...

I really hated Qeynos, whereas I rather fancy doing the newb quests round Freeport again. Amazingly atmospheric, the little districts (starting areas), even if the main city is a bit annoyingly (and pointlessly) big. Kind of like London....

Yer were goodie goodies, though after arround level 20-25 that makes little to no diffrence within the game. Personally after playing Qeynos and Freeport and speaking to alot of people Freeport is not 1/2 as good as Qeynos, it's dull, grey, badly though out and damn annoying to run arround!

I agree with Hathy. I have gotten chars in both cities to at least level 15, and while the Freeport side occasionally has some cool quests with a very dark humour, generally speaking I found Freeport to simply be depressing.

I prefer the more friendly side. Getting treated like dung and getting threatened from every single bloody NPC you talk to got old fast for me.

Well, the survivors of the "great WoW Migration" are playing on the Splitpaw server. But I have to warn you, there are not many left. I think there are 6 or so CUKers still playing but 5 of them left CUK in EQ2. I am the only one still in CUK there. I am also the lowest level, with a 35 Paladin and a 45 Troubador. The rest are all level 50. I would offer to throw you an invite to CUK, but I am not an officer, so I can't.

However, a few days ago I saw Vixanen and Omada again, so we may soon have a few more people playing.

Turminator, Vone and Meths stayed on Runnyeye when we did the server move to Splitpaw. I know that Turm at least is still playing, not sure about Vone and Meths.

I can ask the guild leadership but we have taken mercs on trips to the big D before now and I think the opportunity to do it again for a reason other than farming would be cool. Will raise it tonight.

There are members of the guild from both cities, not split 50/50 as you would expect but there are a fair few baddies. I've no idea what the server split is, but you expect there would be many more goodies than baddies. However, starting city only really affects you until you get out into the bigger world (ie past Nek Forest).

There is so much content to play with now, lots of raids, some hard, some insane, new areas, plus the expansion coming out which is open to everyone over lvl45 I think. The jury is still out on the combat changes which are still quite fluid, but the expansion looks very nice.

One thing to bear in mind is that it brings epic monsters that hunt you!!

BTW - I have an alt that can invite you to ClanUK. And Omada is playing again (albeit unguilded), been leveling him in CT and Everfrost. Think he's close to 49 now. He got sick of Bozwald saying how much he enjoyed playing (even though we have singly failed to get him 1 wizzie master and got me 4).
