Its going to be good - its Ridley Scott. Fassbinder Charlise Theron - all good. Noomi Rapace was the original Lisbet salander in the Swedish atrocity that was the Girl with the Dragon tattoo, she was wrong choice as Salander Imo but she was the best thing in that awful trilogy of films. She is in the Sherlock Holmes sequel but apparently they dont let her talk much, she just sits around and eats. I have seen her in a couple of other things and her English seems fine. I get the feeling this is going to be very good.

She speaks a fair bit in Sherlock Holmes, not too bad tbh although I didn't rate the film that highly. One noticeable thing in sherlock holmes though (at the risk of sounding slightly sexist), she made the combat scene's look good. I'm bored of female actors doing terrible half arsed attempts at action scene's (like Suckerpunch or Alice in Wonderland). Oh theres a giant chasing me, I'll crack a half arsed jog -.-

Anyway, I am looking forward to this, big fan of the alien Trilogy.

It's a Ridley Scott film which means the studio will cut several scenes which they don't consider to be important in order to get the running time down.

What they will actually do is turn a great film into an OK film until the director's cut comes out on DVD and restores it to it's original glory.

Seems to be what they do with pretty much any decent Scott film.

Agreed Cull. Although I must admit that I rather liked the trailer (probably for all the wrong reasons).

Cheers

Hopefully in 20 years the final directors cut of this film will make it less mediocre.

I hear it's the first part of a new trilogy....

The first DVD release is being advertised with a new beginning and a new end. If the next release has a new middle as well it might be watchable :)

They're alternate scenes and to be honest they're even more underwhelming than the theatrical release ones.

I actually went to the cinemahouse to watch this on my own in 3d because i'd forgotten what going to the cinema was like. I came out thinking, "i think i like going to the cinema" but i never gave the film another thought.. almost like "i was going to see it eventually, so i'm glad i got it out of the way"

If you dwell on the film then this happens..

am going to stick my neck out and say that i liked it, it not as good as i wanted it to be, and it not the film i wanted it to be, but when i've watched it it on it own merits i've liked it, and i think that (if they ever get made) you get to watch all 3 films a lot more of you will like it too
